To SD, ha.
Eh with the bum shoulder.... Jd please
Now that I've wet everyone's appetite, I guess it's a good time to disappoint you by saying I'm targeting early August for the first chapter of Part V to go live.
Okay Hello Games.
Crossed the 30,000-word mark on Part V this morning and I'm still going. So, I'm hitting the writing tear I wanted, which means we're not far off from teasers and such, including a date for the first chapter going live.
Vin, where's that SOON picture you made?
This makes me happy.
Hope you guys like reading, because the word count's going up (again). Looks like the average word count per chapter in Part V will end up somewhere between 5,600 and 5,700.
For the record, the Part IV average was 5,369. So I guess that's not too sharp an increase.
“So this could be it. Packers and Knights tied, 24-24, only 13 seconds left. First and ten, ball is pretty much right on the 50-yard line. Maverick in shotgun with the Packers backing up in the secondary. Maverick, dropping back, looking, here comes pressure, Maverick’s surrounded, stepping up, he fires…there’s Bishop—oh, he is crushed, and lands awkwardly.”
“Did he hang on to that?”
“Officials running in, and they rule…catch! He caught it! Logan Bishop somehow hangs on! The clock’s still ticking, only three seconds, and Merle Harden calls his final timeout. That’s a 15-yard gain, and now the Knights can attempt a field goal to win it!”
“Unbelievable. What a catch! You see Bishop there, looking a little dazed. He took a hard hit midair and slammed against the grass. And how about that throw by Maverick, Packers all around him, he somehow steps up and launches a rope over the middle.”
“So here comes Noah McCabe. He has not had a good rookie year, and he has not been effective from this distance, but he’s 3 for 3 so far tonight. It’ll be a 52-yarder, to win the Super Bowl, from the right hash.”
“And Mike McCarthy, it doesn’t look like he’s gonna try to ice him, so this is it.”
“Here we go. Good snap, good hold, the kick is away…got the distance…hooking left…and…it’s good! It’s good! No flags, and there’s no time! It’s over! The Knights swarm the field and they mob McCabe! And five years after football returns to Los Angeles, now the Lombardi Trophy is returning too! The Knights are Super Bowl champions!”
A good general manager builds a Super Bowl team.
A great general manager keeps it together.
Honored are the Knights.
Hail to the King.
Just to clarify: barring something dramatic changing my mind, we've got two seasons of KoA left. Part V starts August 5th and will run through October or November, and then my goal is to start publishing Part VI in February, right after the real-life Super Bowl. And then it's over.
Edit: Oh, and of course you guys have more detailed teasers coming over the next few weeks as we count down to August 5.
And then it's over.
Quite possibly the most idiotic thing I've ever seen you say.
*writes in career-ending injury to Zack's character*
Should've taken it as a compliment.
I for one love the idea of ending it after two seasons...
