BJORN 679 Posted August 21, 2015 Just curious where people go to look for stats, what the best sites are, etc...for any sport (including football). I mainly use ESPN for stats but it's just really basic box score stuff. I have used PFF in the past and they have a few useful stats that you won't find in a simple box score. Loved their player ratings as well.
oochymp 2,393 Posted August 21, 2015 http://www.pro-football-reference.com/ there's a similar site for most sports, it can take some time to figure out how to navigate it but there's a lot of information
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted August 21, 2015 FanGraphs is the best baseball site on the web. Not only does it have all the stats you need, but the articles they write on there are top notch. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/is-erasmo-ramirez-for-real/ here's a recent article from there.

RazorStar 4,025 Posted August 21, 2015 I also use pro-football-reference, it's great for accumulating a lot of data, and you can get useful information for abstract situations like "which runningback has the most carries on second down."

.AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted August 21, 2015 The usual of: Pro Football Reference ESPN CBSSports Rotoworld For more in depth stuff: Washington Post has a pretty in-depth library of stats, just scroll down to the bottom to see all of their categories - http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/ Football Outsiders has a lot of good stuff - http://www.footballoutsiders.com/ Pro Football Focus is worth paying attention to whether you have a subscription or not as their articles contain a good number of stats - http://www.profootballfocus.com/ For Salary Cap information - http://overthecap.com/calculator/tennessee-titans and http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/ If you can't get PFF, STATS tracks some of the o-line stats like sacks allowed and penalties against - http://hosted.stats.com/fb/players.asp Not exactly a "stats site", but all the articles have really good information and often times stats you can't find else where, and is generally just worth reading to improve your football IQ - http://www.footballperspective.com/

DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) Aside from the ones already stated... Team rankings has a lot of truly in-depth team stats for NFL, NBA, etc. Sporting Charts has a lot of in-depth offensive and actual defensive player stats like stuffs, TFLs, hurries, as well as NBA. Including player snap count, and percentage. I'm big on basketball advanced stats more then any of other sports so I spend a considerable amount of time on synergy, NBA player tracking, and 82games.
