SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 27, 2016 (edited) It's back! Was it ever really here? I'm resurrecting an old idea that never got off the ground. The idea is you can buy/sell stocks of NFL teams. Their value is based on, simply, how good they are. But it's not a 9:30-to-4 market; you can only buy stocks during certain times. The market will be open: from now until the Hall of Fame game, from the end of the preseason to week 1, between weeks 4 and 5, between weeks 9 and 10, between weeks 13 and 14, between week 17 and the beginning of the playoffs, between the Super Bowl and...oh I don't know, we'll figure it out. Teams' current share values are listed below. They won't change much in the preseason, but during the regular season, teams who win will increase in value, teams who lose will decrease in value. For now, everyone has $100,000 to spend however they wish. Buy low, sell high, and good luck. Team Share Prices, as of July 27th Sorry about the formatting, I pasted this from Excel. Team prices are after the team name. Arizona Cardinals $68.50 Atlanta Falcons $35.00 Baltimore Ravens $50.00 Buffalo Bills $35.00 Carolina Panthers $68.50 Chicago Bears $40.00 Cincinnati Bengals $60.00 Cleveland Browns $5.00 Dallas Cowboys $61.00 Denver Broncos $62.50 Detroit Lions $25.00 Green Bay Packers $70.00 Houston Texans $45.00 Indianapolis Colts $55.00 Jacksonville Jaguars $40.00 Kansas City Chiefs $55.00 Los Angeles Rams $40.00 Miami Dolphins $40.00 Minnesota Vikings $57.50 New England Patriots $72.50 New Orleans Saints $35.00 New York Giants $50.00 New York Jets $40.00 Oakland Raiders $52.50 Philadelphia Eagles $30.00 Pittsburgh Steelers $67.00 San Diego Chargers $20.00 San Francisco 49ers $15.00 Seattle Seahawks $70.00 Tampa Bay Buccaneers $20.00 Tennessee Titans $15.00 Washington Redskins $40.00 Edited January 8, 2017 by SteVo

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 5, 2016 Ok, let's fire this up! Market is open until kickoff this Thursday night. Share prices are the same as originally posted, with a few exceptions in the wake of the Bridgewater injury/Bradford trade: Vikings drop from $57.50/share to $45.50/share Eagles drop from $30/share to $25.50/share Since no one bought stock in either of those teams, everything is still as it was a few weeks back. Those who bought stocks have not won or lost any money. You can sell what you bought if you want. The market reopens after week 4.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 5, 2016 When/how do you get a return? If They win game one or what? Share prices are re-evaluated by me every 4 weeks or so. Team's worth is based on how they're doing, to put it painfully vague. Above all else, teams who win will have prices rise, and teams who lose will have prices fall. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted October 4, 2016 The market is open! Only ATL and PhilElliot turned a profit this go-round, so congratulations to you two. Everyone else, get it together! There's a lot of information in this post, but I'll keep it as organized as possible. I've also attached the Excel file I'm using to organize everything, so check it out. The market will close again at 1pm Eastern this Sunday, though if you want to buy/sell any Cardinals/49ers stock, you'll have to do so prior to kickoff Thursday night. The market will re-open Tuesday November 8th, upon the conclusion of week 9. Those who have already bought shares: you may sell your shares and get your money back, buy more (if you have money), or retain it. If you take no action, all your shares will be kept. The Browns are off limits for purchase. See below. Reminder: all TGP members start with a balance of $100,000. Team Share Prices Arizona Cardinals: $45.00/share (-23.50) Atlanta Falcons: $46.50 (+11.50) Baltimore Ravens: $52.50 (+2.50) Buffalo Bills: $40.00 (+5.00) Carolina Panthers: $49.50 (-19.00) Chicago Bears: $28.50 (-11.50) Cincinnati Bengals: $53.50 (-6.50) Cleveland Browns: $4.00 (-1.00) Dallas Cowboys: $63.50 (+2.50) Denver Broncos: $68.00 (+5.50) Detroit Lions: $22.50 (-2.50) Green Bay Packers: $71.00 (+1.00) Houston Texans: $48.00 (+3.00) Indianapolis Colts: $45.00 (-10.00) Jacksonville Jaguars: $35.00 (-5.00) Kansas City Chiefs: $50.00 (-5.00) Los Angeles Rams: $49.50 (+9.50) Miami Dolphins: $32.50 (-7.50) Minnesota Vikings: $66.50 (+21.00) New England Patriots: $74.50 (+2.00) New Orleans Saints: $30.00 (-5.00) New York Giants: $48.00 (-2.00) New York Jets: $32.50 (-7.50) Oakland Raiders: $57.50 (+5.00) Philadelphia Eagles: $46.50 (+21.00) Pittsburgh Steelers: $70.00 (+3.00) San Diego Chargers: $17.50 (-2.50) San Francisco 49ers: $14.00 (-1.00) Seattle Seahawks: $71.00 (+1.00) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $18.00 (-2.00) Tennessee Titans: $14.00 (-1.00) Washington Redskins: $42.50 (+2.50) All prices are listed per share. TGP Members by Net Worth ATL: $107,000 (+$7,000) PhilElliot: $103,276 (+$3,276) RazorStar: $97,250 (-$2,750) Thanatos: $96,000 (-$4,000) Vin: $95,600 (-$4,400) Sarge: $90,875 (-$9,125) Cherry: $89,000 (-$11,000) Barracuda: $80,000 (-$20,000) Net worth includes available funds plus current value of all owned stocks. For a more detailed breakdown, see the Excel spreadsheet. Regarding the Browns... The Browns are now in what we will call chapter eleven. Nobody can purchase additional stock in them, but those who have already invested have the option to keep or sell. The reason I'm doing this is because, unlike a real stock market where companies can outright go out of business, the Browns can only get so much worse. In other words, I shouldn't have set their share price so low, because it's approaching the point where it can only go up, and everyone would be investing in them. So, chalk this up to a mixture of lolBrownsfail and lolStevofail. TGP Stock Market W4.xlsx
