Burnt.

FANTASTIC film.... Once again, amazing performances by an entire cast of actors. I really don't know if there was a weakness. Bradley Cooper is, of course, fantastic. But I do have to give props once again to Daniel Bruhl. I don't think he gets very much credit for how truly awesome he is as an actor. He is VERY VERY good and people should pay attention to him. Awesome movie.. I think I would actually rank this above Steve Jobs which I saw last weekend.

I do think they could have stepped it up a little... It seems like maybe the writers or directors or whoever may have held back just a tad.

It's a mix of the old stuff and the new stuff. Also, there's an end-credit scene that's pretty neat.

Gonna watch it tonight .:ooo:

Watched all 5 previous movies in preparation. Seeing Seed for the first time.

Think Child's Play 3 is my favorite. 1 might be worst of the first 3. Seed was eh lol.

Child's Play 3 is labeled the worst but it's an absolute guilty pleasure of mine. Loved the way he replaced the paintball with actual bullets. Just love that scene.

What did you think of Curse?

Just love the huge amount of characters in 3. I die laughing when he bursts out of the box at Tyler and the scene with the walkie talkie was awesome.

Didn't like Curse all that much honestly. :( The post credit scene was cool and the events leading up to the police chase was nice too.

Rankings:

Child's Play 3 > Child's Play 2 > Child's Play > Curse of Chucky > Bride of Chucky > Seed of Chucky.

I went from one amazing eventual Oscar winning film to one.... well... that's not.

Saw Pan. I think it was better than most people would give it credit for. It's currently at 25% on RT and it's better than that. But it's just kinda OK. It's not a very fluid narrative, feels kinda crammed together (which is odd considering the 2 hour run time)... And I feel like a lot of good stuff was left on the editing room floor. I liked Levi Miller as Peter, I REALLY liked Garrett Hedlund as Hook. Hugh Jackman on the other hand is atrocious. He and his character were so poorly written and acted that he / his character single handedly bring this movie down several pegs. Even worse, his character dominates the screen. Absolutely terrible.

"Hook" still reigns supreme.

R.I.P. Robin Williams Da Gawd

Southpaw 7/10

Really hard to explain this. I think it was kinda put together in a sloppy way and some of the actors weren't that good, but man I haven't seen a tear jerker like this in a loooooong time!

Watched Scream and Saw for Halloween. Both excellent horror flicks, though Saw is more psychological suspense than anything.

I finally got out and saw the Martian this weekend, was not disappointed, even having read the book, and therefore knowing what would happen, they still did a very good job of building suspense, got a little ridiculous at times, but that wasn't unexpected, I thought they did a great job of staying true to the book

I'm not even a fan of the whole WoW thing, but I can appreciate a good story and movie. Looks awesome, IMO.

SPY: 9/10

OMG never seen a blend of action and comedy so well! Story got a little undone right towards the end, but was still pure art to watch the amazing writing come to life in beautiful execution.

-Jason Statham is hilarious in this!

-That girl who is partners with McCarthy is hideous!

Spehctre. 7 ehs out of 10. ( I feel like the eh scale should be inversed from the usual scale, but whatever).

Sam Smith's song is meh.

Sticks to a bunch of Bond tropes that I thought we had moved past in the Craig Bonds, but nope.

Some nice setpieces and action scenes, but things could've been done so much better.

Hopefully this isn't Craig's last Bond film, but if it is, it's a pretty terrible send off/end to an era.

I'd put it over Quantum of Solace (though I've only seen it twice, and pretty much only remember someone taking an axe to the foot and the ending, so take that for what it's worth) but behind both Casino Royale and Skyfall.

Spectre. I'm gonna disagree with Vin big time. I thought it was awesome. Definitely the second best of the Craig Bond series (Casino Royale being the best). Yeah, it was familiar, but it worked. I could be in the minority, though, because I didn't love Skyfall like everyone else seemed to.

I agree with Vin on this. Very kinda blah. There were definitely some nice action sequences but man it really fell flat in a lot of places too. I don't recall what the runtimes were in the other Craig Bond movies, but this one actually felt like it ran too long. It was dragged out and beaten to death.

Other Craig Bond movies (especially Skyfall) were much darker and filled with grit while Spectre was more cheesy and 'lighter' (relatively). I like the darker Bond where he doesn't have to have sex with every woman in the movie and where the villain is just really menacing and not typical Bond goofy. Using, "I killed your husband" as a pick up line is an area I would have rather they not crossed. lol. Like it just takes it to just another realm of bizarre. We know Bond is hot, sexy, macho, bad ass, and a misogynist... We don't need to see it all the time.

I thought Waltz was actually under utilized as Blofled, and it might be one of the worst movies / roles I have EVER seen him in -- although keep in mind, I haven't watched a lot of of them and mostly stuck to the epic roles he's played.

Also thought the little sub-plot with C was underutilized. It paid off in the end regardless but felt like the ending to that made it seem like it was a bigger part of the story than what it really was. To me, they didn't build that up like they could have. They kinda sorta made it seem important but didn't develop it a ton, then BANG ending it's like a huge thing.

And I actually loved the little artistry with Sam Smith's song in the beginning. The song isn't the greatest on it's own, but with opening sequences, i thought it worked very well. Honestly maybe my favorite part of the movie.

As Vin said, this will be a very unfortunate way to end the Craig Bond films if it is indeed his last one. Skyfall would have been a spectacular ending. While I wouldn't like this to be how we remember Craig as Bond, this just confirms what I had been feeling since Skyfall ended -- that I am ready for something new. I was totally satisfied after Skyfall and now they have kinda ruined it. So I will continue to struggle with the Do I or DOn't I want another Craig Bond movie until we hear officially.

Let's get the discussion going, then...who'd you like to see as the next Bond? I watched a top 10 video that threw out some interesting names.

Idris Elba

Clive Owen

Andrew Lincoln

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Matthew Goode

Michael Fassbender

Andy Lincoln :ooo:

I think it depends on where they want to go after the Craig era. Maybe they kill off Craig in the next movie and then turn Bond into a codename. Or maybe we go back to the 60s. I dunno.

Honestly can't go wrong with Tom Hardy (which is actually the answer to everything.) but we'll probably get a young Bond or something.

I'm not sure why but for some reason I'm looking forward to this one, and I'm typically not much of a horror movie fan

5/10? Damn, that's a little harsh considering it's better than most the crap that's out in horror. V/H/S is hit or miss with the segments. V/H/S 2 is the same.

30 for 30: Trojan War, ESPN's documentary about the rise and fall of USC football under Pete Carroll. It ends up covering a lot more of the rise than the fall--so much so that the documentary as a whole kinda feels like:

USC was struggling, and then they hired Pete Caroll. And then they were great! And they had Matt Leinart! And Reggie Bush! (And Lendale White!) And they were awesome. Won a championship. Won another championship. Lost another championship to Texas. Oh yeah, and there were some sanctions and stuff.

Having said that, still fun to watch if you're a sports fan, as most 30 for 30 doc's are.

Inside Out: 8.5/10

Not as good as I was expecting at least story wise. But the pure creativity pushes this movie over the top. Had me analyzing myself in a whole new way lol.

Teacher of the Year:

Only got through about 40min honestly. Hit way too close to home for me lol. But seemed like it was headed in a really interesting place for a indy movie.

Dope: 10/10
