Shotgun 442 Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) LOL@ Matt Ryan #8. People need to get off this dudes nuts. He ain't that damn good. And Tom Brady #33? Behind Brees, Ryan, Peyton, Rivers? What the fuck is this dude smoking? Edited May 10, 2011 by Shotgun
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted May 10, 2011 Holy mother of fuck, these rankings are terrible. I think this guy was trying way too hard to be cool and trendy by putting a handful of the less recognized names higher than they should be. Also the fact that he's biased towards some players and has beef against others made this list a steaming hot pile of horse shit.
Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted May 10, 2011 Roethlisberger wasn't even in the top 101. Lmao.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted May 10, 2011 Using our top 128, I'm gonna try to formulate our TGP top 100. Using XStats may make it a bit messy, and some teams will prolly get jipped with representatives, but it's worth a short. Here are our top 16, sort of. 1. Troy Polamalu 2. Aaron Rodgers 3. Tom Brady 4. Nnamdi Asomugha 5. DeMarcus ware 6. Darrelle Revis 7. Andre Johnson 8. Philip Rivers 9. Patrick Willis 10. Drew Brees 11. Joe Thomas 12. Haloti Ngata 13. Larry Fitzgerald 14. Trent Cole 15. Calvin Johnson 16. Justin Smith

BLUE 1,026 Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) I mean, I like PFF for the stats and studies they do....but the gradings and rankings make my brain hurt sometimes....it's one thing to think outside of the box.....it's completely another to put a large catapult in the box, hop in that bitch and fire yourself ten billion miles away from it.... badgers 380 Posted May 10, 2011 Yo dude you're missing numbers. It goes 80-61, 60-41, 40-21, 20-1 You have 60-21. Here's 60-41, guys: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/05/02/the-top-101-players-of-2010-no-60-%E2%80%93-no-41/

RazorStar 4,025 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) XStats mades our list pretty retarded. This isn't factoring how far a player got in the tournament, but instead purely percentages against percentages in a recursive format. I'll be doing some tiebreakers, sorting by round eliminated to get a better list later. (Changes made to the blowout adjustments, 1/8, 1/6, 1/5, 1/4) 1. Troy Polamalu 50.00% 2. Tom Brady 48.39% 3. RazorStar 4,025 Posted May 11, 2011 *note* A lot of those are adjusted for blowout, I should tweak my blowout adjustment formula though, previously it was just to keep the vote difference between matches where the opponent has less than 20% of the vote (rounded to nearest whole number), and make it so that player gets the lowest amount of votes. Example, these matches all have 15 votes Player A 15 Player B 0 Player C 14 Player D 1 Player E 13 Player F 2 Player G 12 Player H 3 these become Player A 18 Player B 3 Player C 16 Player D 3 Player E 14 Player F 3 Player G 12 Player H 3 I should lower that 20% mark to 1/8 in the first round, and 1/6 in the second, then I'll get back to it. RANGA+ 1,210 Posted May 11, 2011 PFF's biggest problem with shit like this is that they try too hard to look smart in their own unique way. And it usually ends up backfiring...
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted May 11, 2011 All of you who are trashing PFF should keep in mind that the guys who run those stats watch game film and analyze every single play. They don't just find the numbers out of some complex equation into which they plug endless numbers of stats. So it's not like these guys aren't credible.
