Discuss this series here.

Definitely think Chicago would rather play Phoenix than LA and San Jose. Phoenix has been carried by Mike Smith recently should be interesting to see if he keeps up his great play in the playoffs.

Phoenix is the preferred opponent compared to L.A. and San Jose. With that being said, I think it will be a hard-fought series but that Chicago will win it in 6.

Nothing against Phoenix, but they have had almost ZERO playoff success since they came into the NHL from the WHA back in 1979 as the original Jets. That trend will continue here, despite them being a division winner.

Chicago in 7.

Going with the Blackhawks.....and I'm thinking it'll be a clean sweep.

Another game going into overtime. Chicago tied it with 14 seconds left in regulation. They really put the pressure on in the third, let's see what happens in overtime.

Wow, great game 1 victory for Phoenix.

Also, four of the first seven playoff games have gone into overtime. Playoff hockey > all.

Torres suspended indefinitely, hearing set for Friday

Wednesday, 04.18.2012 / 12:58 PM / NHL.com

NEW YORK -- Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres has been suspended indefinitely, pending an in-person hearing Friday, April 20, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today. The hearing, which had been planned for today, was deferred at the request of the player and the National Hockey League Players' Association.

The hearing will be convened at the NHL's New York office for a hit Torres delivered to Chicago forward Marian Hossa 11:42 into the first period of Game 3 of the teams' Western Conference Quarterfinal series in Chicago on Tuesday, April 17.

Mike Smith is having to work more than Crawford. Coyotes need way more shots.

Wow that was a such an odd way to end the game. He almost didn't even shoot it, lol.

I can't believe how badly Crawford has stunk these past two overtimes. I mean neither of those should've been goals. He really needs to step his game up or maybe they go with Emery in Game 5? Either way he's looking less and less like the future of the goaltending position in Chicago.

Meanwhile Mike Smith continues to shine. Then again Chicago was able to rattle off three straight wins against Vancouver last year so it's not out of the question for the Blackhawks to come back in this. They just need to not let in the fluke goals.

Mike Smith is playing lights out and is easily out playing crawford.

Yeah I don't really think anybody expected otherwise. I can't throw stats off the top of my head but Crawford had some shining moments in last year's Finals and that's about it.

This series is going to 7...It has been entertaining to watch with every game being decided in OT...but I don't think you'll see the Blackhawks lose this in less than 7.
