Milla's 2012 Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

1.Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

No brainer here. Luck is the kind of rare prospect you release Peyton Manning for.

2.Washington Redskins - Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

Another no brainer. The Redskins didn't give up all those picks to move up and take anyone but a franchise QB.

3.Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil, OT, USC

Should be a no brainer, but some reports suggest otherwise. Then again, it could just be smokescreens to drum up interest in this pick from other teams.

4.Cleveland Browns - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

The Browns have a lot of options here, but I think they go BPA and get a workhorse back to see if that can help Colt McCoy in any way this season.

5.Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

I think the Bucs want Richardson, but with him off the board they go for the best defensive prospect in the draft. Aqib Talib is always in trouble and Ronde Barber is old, so the need for a corner gets filled.

6.St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State

The Rams finally get their go to receiver for Sam Bradford while adding a ton of picks to the mix thanks to their deal with the Redskins.

7.Jacksonville Jaguars - Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

The Jags have several needs, but a pass rusher across from Jeremy Mincey is one of them.

8.Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

I have a feeling that someone may try and move up fo Tannehill, but in this case he falls into Miami's lap and gets a chance to be their franchise QB.

9.Carolina Panthers - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

Suprise pick here. Steve Smith is still a good player, but Carolina will roll the dice on creating a dynamic passing game for Cam Newton. They did something similar years ago when they took Jonathan Stewart despite DeAngelo William's presence.

10.Buffalo Bills - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

The Bills' need for a passrusher is softened with Mario Williams being there and now that Demetrius Bell has signed with the Eagles, the Bills need for protection for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

11.Kansas City Chiefs - David DeCastro, OG, Stanford

The Chiefs could use some help with their interior offensive line and DeCastro is a special kind of guard prospect.

12.Seattle Seahawks - Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

The Seahawks just lost David Hawthorne and have a need for a LB and Kuechly is the best linebacker in the draft, he fills a need and could be productive for Seattle right away.

13.Arizona Cardinals - Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford

I think this is a rough scenario for the Cardinals as the guys they may want are all gone. Martin is the best player that fills a need, but I think they'd like to trade down here.

14.Dallas Cowboys - Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis

Dallas needs some help on their defensive line and Poe is a huge man whose soared up draft boards with a good combine. A lot of people are talking about how much Jerry Jones likes him, and it could be a smokescreen but I don't think it is in this case.

15.Philadelphia Eagles - Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

The Eagles are going to go with a defensive tackle here, and this is up between Cox and Michael Brockers but Cox's stock has gone up to the point where he may seriously go before this pick and I think he is Philly's guy here for now.

16.New York Jets - Nick Perry, DE/LB, USC

The Jets struggle to get after the QB, and Perry's stock is on the rise and should be a good fit in Rex Ryan's defense.

17.Cincinnati Bengals - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama

Very talented corner who falls a little more than he probably should to the Bengals with Nate Clements aging. The recent signing of Terrence Newman should have no impact on the Bengals' draft plans.

18.San Diego Chargers - Courtney Upshaw, DE/LB, Alabama

The Chargers have a need for a pass rusher and Upshaw is a great prospect available that could fit in San Diego nicely.

19.Chicago Bears - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor

Even after acquiring Brandon Marshall, the Bears need a speedy deep threat for Jay Cutler. Reports are the Bears really like Wright and he fills that need perfectly.

20.Tennessee Titans - Michael Brockers, DT, LSU

Brockers drops a little bit and the Titans will be looking to upgrade their defensive line next to Jurrell Casey and Kamerion Wimbley.

21.Cincinnati Bengals - Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia

The Bengals got their need for a corner, and with this pick they replace Boobie Williams with a top guard prospect.

22.Cleveland Browns - Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech

The Browns are likely hoping that Kendall Wright fell here, but he didn't so they get the best weapon available and a guy whose stock is rising.

23.Detroit Lions - Mark Barron, S, Alabama

I'm not sure he will really fall this far, but if he does he would be a nice upgrade for Detroit's poor secondary.

24.Pittsburgh Steelers - Dont'a Hightower, LB, Alabama

This seems like a typical Steelers pick to shore up their defense with young talent as long term solutions. I think Hightower would be a perfect fit in their defense as well.

25.Denver Broncos - Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin

J.D. Walton was one of the worst centers in the league last year, so protecting Peyton Manning should be a priority.

26.Houston Texans - Devon Still, DT, Penn State

The Texans are a team that doens't have a lot of pressing needs, but they could use some help with the interior defensive line. Still could easily go before this pick and is good value for Houston here.

27.New England Patriots - Whitney Mercilus, DE/LB, Illinois

The Patriots probably will trade out of one of their first round picks, but I won't do trades here and Mercilus helps provide a versatile pass rusher for Bill Belichick's defense.

28.Green Bay Packers - Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina

I see Coples tumbling hard on draft night, and the Packers will be in position to get great value here on a pass rusher.

29.Baltimore Ravens - Shea McClellin, DE/LB, Boise State

I think the Ravens would like to find a Ben Grubbs replacement, but they will go with a pass rusher whose stock is on the rise instead. McClellin has been shooting up boards lately and is a prime candidate to be a late first round pick.

30.San Francisco 49ers - Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford

Yes, the 49ers have Vernon Davis. But the Patriots started a two-TE kick and the 49ers need weapons in the passing game, period. With all the top WRs available, they go with the skilled TE.

31.New England Patriots - Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama

Again, New England is likely to trade out of one of these picks. But I can see them gambling on the very talented, but troubled corner here.

32.New York Giants - Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State

The Giants could use some offensive line help and Adams is the best man available to fill that void for them.

Second Round

33.St. Louis Rams - Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State

Rams need some interior line help and Worthy is the best fit for them available.

34.Indianapolis Colts - David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech

The Colts need to retool their offense and with Joseph Addai gone and Donald Brown not panning out, Wilson would be the best pick for them at this spot.

35.Minnesota Vikings - Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame

The Vikings need a lot of secondary help, and now that they went OL in round one I see them focusing in on fixing that problem with a very skilled safety.

36.Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Doug Martin, RB, Boise State

The Bucs miss out on Trent Richardson, but get a very nice consolation prize as far as runningback is concerned. Martin would be a nice fit with Blount in Tampa Bay's backfield.

37.Cleveland Browns - Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State

QBs are being overdrafted in today's NFL and while Weeden is talented, he is almost 30. However, the Browns gamble on him and his age after adressing the skill positions in round one.

38.Jacksonville Jaguars - Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina

Even after signing Laurent Robinson, the Jags have one of the league's worst receiving groups. Blaine Gabbert needs help.

39.St. Louis Rams - Lamar Miller, RB, Miami (FL)

The Rams need to think about Steven Jackson's age and the beatings he has taken over the years. They need a guy to take the load off him and be in line to be his succesor.

40.Carolina Panthers - Kendall Reyes, DT/DE, Connecticut

Carolina went BPA over need in round one with Michael Floyd, so they help shore up their interior defensive line with the best DT prospect on the board.

41.Buffalo Bills - Josh Robinson, CB, Central Florida

The Bills need some depth at corner and Robinson is a very talented prospect and one of the better players available.

42.Miami Dolphins - Chandler Jones, DE/LB, Syracuse

The Dolphins didn't go pass rush in round one to get their QB, so they get their pass rusher here. Jones can play in either a 4-3 or 3-4, so he'd fit nicely in Miami's defense that may have mixes of both.

43.Seattle Seahawks - Andre Branch, DE, Clemson

The Seahawks need help getting after the QB, and Branch is the best man available for them and their defense.

44.Kansas City Chiefs - Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State

Another overdrafted QB, but the Chiefs want a young guy with potential who has the upside to beat Matt Cassell. Osweiler is a big QB with a lot of potential for the Chiefs to groom and he doesn't have the pressure of starting day one.

45.Dallas Cowboys - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin

Dallas needs some guard help going forward and Zeitler fills that need.

46.Philadelphia Eagles - Lavonte David, LB, Nebraska

Even after getting DeMeco Ryans, the Eagles need some help with their linebackers. David is the best one available and should help Philly's defense nicely.

47.New York Jets - Rueben Randle, WR, LSU

The Jets need another weapon in the passing game and Randle is the best receiver available for this pick.

48.New England Patriots - Aimini Silatolu, OG/OT, Midwestern State

The Patriots need a safety, but one worth this pick isn't here. You can count on them trading around, but here they add a versatile offensive lineman.

49.San Diego Chargers - Kelechi Osmele, OG, Iowa State

The Chargers need help with their interior offensive line with Kris Dielman's problems, Osmele is the best man available to fill that need.

50.Chicago Bears - Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

Gilmore takes a little bit of a tumble but lands in a good fit on a team that could use him.

51.Philadelphia Eagles - Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska

The Eagles go with Cornhuskers with each second rouner. Asante Samuel is about out the door and some more depth won't hurt.

52.Tennessee Titans - Zach Brown, LB, North Carolina

A guy whose stock is dropping, and the Titans could use some outside linebacker help. It is a good spot for both parties here at #52.

53.Cincinnati Bengals - Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson

Some defensive line depth is a need for the Bengals, and Thompson fell a little more than he should've and is a good pick for them here.

54.Detroit Lions - Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss

Jeff Backus is old and the Lions have needed offensive line help for years.

55.Atlanta Falcons - Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida State

A wee bit of a reach, but the Falcons need offensive line help and he is the best available.

56.Pittsburgh Steelers - Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State

The Steelers may need a little Mike Wallace insurance and depth at the position couldn't hurt either.

57.Denver Broncos - Vinny Curry, DE/LB, Marshall

Lower than he should go, but it is great value for Denver here who gets some help on defense.

58.Houston Texans - Mychal Kendricks, LB, California

After losing DeMeco Ryans, Houston could use a 3-4 ILB, and Kendricks would be an excellent fit for that role.

59.Green Bay Packers - Jared Crick, DE, Nebraska

He seems kind of like a Packers pick to me, he helps fill a need as well.

60.Baltimore Ravens - Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech

The Ravens don't have much depth at corner and it is a position they likely will look into on draft day. Hosley is easily the best prospect available for them.

61.San Francisco 49ers - Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers

The 49ers need some help at WR even with the additions of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham. Adding playmakers on offense should be their number one priority.

62.New England Patriots - Trumaine Johnson, S/CB, Montana

Bill Belichick needs safety help and he'll draft Johnson here a safety prospect.

63.New York Giants - Bobby Wagner, LB, Utah State

The Giants need help with their linebackers and Wagner is a good value and need pick for them to close out the second round.

Round Three

64.Indianapolis Cotls - Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson

The Colts continue to retool their offense. With Dallas Clark out of the picture and Jacob Tamme in Denver, Andrew Luck needs a safety valve tight end.

65.St. Louis Rams - Brandon Brooks, OG, Miami (OH)

The Rams need some interior offensive line help.

66.Minnesota Vikings - Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia

The Vikings continue to add to their secondary.

67.Cleveland Browns - Ronell Lewis, DE/LB, Oklahoma

Lewis drops further than he should and is a great value pick for a Browns team that needs talent just about anywhere.

68.Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Sean Spence, LB, Miami (FL)

The Bucs need to upgrade their linebacking group. Spence may be undersized, but he has very good instincts and ability.

69.Washington Redskins - Mitchell Schwartz, OT, California

The Redskins need some depth at the offensive line with several starters having injury concerns.

70.Jacksonville Jaguars - James Brown, OT, Troy

The Jags look to upgrade their right tackle position or at least add competition there.

71.Buffalo Bills - Juron Criner, WR, Arizona

The Bills need some receiving help behind Stevie Johnson.

72.Miami Dolphins - Brandon Taylor, S, LSU

The Dolphins could use some safety help with Yeremiah Bell being recently released.

73.Miami Dolphins - Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin

The Dolphins got this pick from Chicago for Brandon Marshall and they use it in a receiving replacement.

74.Kansas City Chiefs - Alameda Ta'amu, DT, Washington

The Chiefs need a nose tackle and Ta'amu is a big guy to help fill up that position.

75.Seattle Seahawks - Chris Polk, RB, Washington

The Seahawks could use a change of pace back for Marshawn Lynch.

76.Houston Texans - Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa

The Texans look to add talent to their recieving corps around Andre Johnson.

77.New York Jets - Bernard Pierce, RB, Temple

The Jets need some runningback help for Shonn Greene with LT likely done.

78.San Diego Chargers - Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina

The Chargers need some corner help with Quentin Jammer aging.

79.Chicago Bears - Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois

The Bears take a local prospect to help upgrade their offensive line.

80.Arizona Cardinals - Brandon Washington, OG/OT, Miami (FL)

The Cardinals need to upgrade their interior offensive line to help protect Kevin Kolb.

81.Dallas Cowboys - Ben Jones, C, Georgia

The Cowboys have to continue looking at their interior offensive line going forward.

82.Tennessee Titans - Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma

After losing Cortland Finnegan, some cornerback depth won't hurt here.

83.Cincinnati Bengals - Marvin Jones, WR, Cincinnati

With Jerome Simpson likely going to jail, some depth at receiver would be nice for the Bengals.

84.Atlanta Falcons - Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette

The Falcons need to look at replacing Tony Gonzalez soon, and they get an athletic tight end to groom for that job.

85.Detroit Lions - Leonard Johnson, CB, Iowa State

The Lions needed help at corner even before they lost Eric Wright.

86.Pittsburgh Steelers - Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinnati

Rashard Mendenhall has injury problems and the Steelers could use some young legs at that position anyways.

87.Denver Broncos - Josh Chapman, DT, Alabama

The Broncos need a big body to replace Broderick Bunkley in the middle of their defense.

88.Philadelphia Eagles - Chris Givens, WR, Wake Forest

The Eagles add a little depth to their receiving core.

89.New Orleans Saints - Casey Hayward, CB, Vanderbilt

First time we hear from the Saints, and they go with a corner to help replace Tracy Porter.

90.Green Bay Packers - LaMichael James, RB, Oregon

The Packers add a speedy option to their backfield to help add talent and depth to a position that lacks it in Green Bay.

91.Baltimore Ravens - Philip Blake, C/OG, Baylor

The Ravens look for a future Matt Birk replacement and a guy who could possibly compete to replace Ben Grubbs as well.

92.San Francisco 49ers - Brandon Mosley, OT, Auburn

The 49ers add depth and competition to the right side of their line.

93.New England Patriots - Josh Kaddu, DE/LB, Oregon

The Pats add another versatile pass rusher to the mix.

94.New York Giants - Orson Charles, TE, Georgia

The Giants signed Martellus Bennett, but only to a one year deal. The talent at tight end can easily be upgraded.

95.Oakland Raiders - Nigel Bradham, LB, Florida State

First time we hear from the Raiders in this draft, and they show up and take the best linebacker on the board to help their defense deal with the blow of losing Kamerion Wimbley.

Round Four

96.St. Louis Rams - Tony Bergstrom, OG/OT, Utah

The Rams need help with their offensive line still and Bergstrom can compete at multiple positions.

97.Indianapolis Colts - Derek Wolfe, DT, Cincinnati

The first pick on defense for the Colts, who use it to upgrade their front seven.

98.Minnesota Vikings - Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas

The Vikings need receiving help behind Percy Harvin.

99.Houston Texans - Billy Winn, DE/DT, Boise State

Houston needs some defensive line depth still and Winn is great value here.

100.Cleveland Browns - Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia

Sheldon Brown is old and the Browns need talent behind Haden for the future.

101.Jacksonville Jaguars - Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State

The Jags get great value and competition for Dwight Lowery.

102.Washington Redskins - Nate Potter, OG/OT, Boise State

The Redskins continue to add depth to their offensive line, and their starting LG tore his ACL last year so Potter may contribute right away.

103.Miami Dolphins - Mike Martin, DT, Michigan

Miami needs defensive line depth with Kendall Langford gone.

104.Carolina Panthers - Keenan Robinson, LB, Texas

Carolina lost Dan Connor and need some help at linebacker.

105.Buffalo Bills - Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan State

Yes, the Bills have Ryan Fitzpatrick. But they could use some depth at the position and Cousins is good value here and has upside to challenge Fitzpatrick eventually.

106.Seattle Seahawks - Tyrone Crawford, DT, Boise State

The Seahawks need some defensive tackle depth here.

107.Kansas City Chiefs - Dwight Bentley, CB, Louisiana-Lafayette

The Chiefs go with corner depth here, with Brandon Carr gone they could use some.

108.Denver Broncos - Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State

With McGahee aging and Knowshon Moreno not being able to stay healthy, Turbin would be a nice add to the Broncos' backfield.

109.Washington Redskins - Nick Jean-Baptiste, DT, Baylor

The Redskins get defensive line depth and a guy who could maybe send Barry Cofield to defensive end. He is a big man who should fit well at nose tackle in their 3-4.

110.San Diego Chargers - Cyrus Gray, RB, Texas A&M

The Chargers lost Mike Tolbert and need depth at the running back position.

111.Chicago Bears - Senio Kelemete, OG/OT, Washington

The Bears need some interior offensive line depth.

112.Arizona Cardinals - Omar Bolden, CB, Arizona State

The Cardinals lost Richard Marshall and need some depth at corner.

113.Dallas Cowboys - Antonio Allen, S, South Carolina

Dallas needs some more help in their secondary. Brodney Pool isn't totally reliable and Allen could push him for playing time.

114.Philadelphia Eagles - Nick Foles, QB, Arizona

The Eagles go with a young QB with upside here, a potential Michael Vick replacement down the line but a guy to battle Trent Edwards for now.

115.Tennessee Titans - Michael Brewster, C, Ohio State

The Titans need help going forward at center. Brewster's stock has fallen over the past few months and is decent value in the fourth.

116.Cincinnati Bengals - Ronnie Hillman, RB, San Diego State

Even after signing BJGE, the Bengals need some help at runningback.

117.Detroit Lions - DeQuan Menzie, CB, Alabama

Lions go corner in back to back rounds to help our the depth there.

118.Cleveland Browns - Andrew Datko, OT, Florida State

The Browns look to upgrade the right side of their offensive line.

119.Pittsburgh Steelers - Kheeston Randall, DT, Texas

The Steelers look for interior defensive line help with this pick.

120.Denver Broncos - Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami (FL)

Denver lost Eddie Royal and pick up Streeter to be a big weapon for Peyton Manning and help fill the void.

121.Houston Texans - Matt McCants, OT, UAB

Some offensive line depth to help the loss of Eric Winston.

122.New Orleans Saints - T.Y. Hilton, WR, Florida International

The Saints have a lot of weapons, but Robert Meachem left and Hilton can help fill the void.

123.Green Bay Packers - Shaun Prater, CB, Iowa

Charles Woodson is aging and the Packers need to think about youth replacing him in the future.

124.Buffalo Bills - Tank Carder, LB, TCU

The Bills need some linebackers to be able to help contribute and Carder is great value with this pick.

125.San Francisco 49ers - Ryan Steed, CB, Furman

The 49ers look to add corner depth here.

126.New England Patriots - Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas

Another weapon to throw into the mix for Tom Brady. He may be needed if Deion Branch looses some steps and Donte Stallworth/Anthony Gonzalez struggle.

127.New York Giants - Vick Ballard, RB, Mississippi State

The Giants need some running back depth after cutting Brandon Jacobs. Ballard has a nice combo of size and speed to fill in.

128.Minnesota Vikings - Terrell Manning, LB, N.C. State

The Vikings need some linebacker help with E.J. Henderson gone.

129.Oakland Raiders - Marcus Forston, DT, Miiami (FL)

The Raiders need some defensive tackle help inside.

130.Baltimore Ravens - Jonathan Massaquoi, DE/LB, Troy

Can step in add depth as a 3-4 OLB for the Ravens.

131.New York Giants - Coryell Judie, CB, Texas A&M

The Giants go with some corner back depth after Aaron Ross left.

132.Green Bay Packers - George Iloka, S, Boise State

The Vikings keep adding more receivers to a group that needs it.

135.Dallas Cowboys - Coty Sensabaugh, CB, Clemson

Dallas adds more depth to their cornerback position.

I would agree with picks 1-6 barring any trades in the draft. Rest who knows

I'd rather roll the dice on Poe, Brockers, or Cox at #9, than take Floyd, with David Gettis coming back.

Like I said earlier, wouldn't be sorely disappointed, but if we think either one of those three will be a good defensive tackle, then we should take them unless we honestly believe Floyd will be the next Larry Fitzgerald, as NFL.com is hyping him up to be.

One of the best mocks I've seen so far this year, I think. I can't really disagree strongly with any picks, I like that I'm not the only one who thinks the Panthers might take Floyd, and I like how you predicted Coples to fall a bit on draft day, because it could definitely happen.

Awesome job, Milla. :yep:

I was sitting and thinking whether to give Carolina Poe or Cox, but then I thought why not on Floyd. His stock is rising to the point that he may even go before Blackmon potentially, I nearly gave him to the Jags, and I remembered the Stewart/Williams thing and thought Carolina would go BPA and give them a dynamic passing game for Cam. Unless you are totally sold on your WRs, then you shouldn't sit on it IMO. The Bucs made that mistake and it killed our offense last year when Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn didn't perform as we hoped and we ended up giving big money to V-Jax.

I could see Coples falling for sure. Not sure if I like him falling all the way to the Packers, however. I think there is a lot of room to move up and down for these hybrid OLB/DE type guys though. I've seen Coples up and down, I've seen Perry up and down. It will be interesting to see how it goes down in a couple weeks.

Coples is a guy whose stock seems to be falling lately while other pass rushers are on the rise. Mike Mayock recently made some strong comments about him:

NFL Network's Mike Mayock indicated on Path to the Draft that he wouldn't pick North Carolina DE Quinton Coples regardless of round if Mayock were general manager of an NFL team.

Mayock acknowledges that Coples has all the talent in the world, but he wouldn't be on Mayock's draft board. "If I'm a GM, I'm not taking him in the first round," said Mayock. "I might not take him in the second round. The bust potential is high." Mayock went on to explain that he couldn't find "any" strong senior-year tape from Coples. While we still expect Coples to be a top 10-12 pick, he certainly seems to present plenty of risk.

Obviously Mayock's opinion doesn't mean all that much, but I just get the feel that Coples is in for a fall. Wouldn't shock me if he fell to the 2nd round.

Updated with a 2nd round mock. I'm feeling like doing a 3rd round, but not tonight.

I've soured on David a little bit, and I think that pick would be reaching to fill a hole rather than going BPA on a hole. Doug Martin is really good, if we don't get TR, I really hope we get him.

I'm pretty sold on LaFell and Gettis, yes. As solid young WRs. I trust them more than I do a guy who has never played a snap, both of them have shown they can play at the NFL-level. That may not carry over into next year, but I have no information that says it won't.

Cam can put up plenty of points as is. Our defensive line is atrocious. I mean, unless they think Fua and/or McClain is going to do a complete 180, I don't see how we pass on a DT/DE at #9. Would not be at all surprised to see them trade down from there, I tried myself in our mock.

I just think that taking Floyd, unless you think he's going to be an absolute stud, would be like upgrading the offense, which is already an 8/10, to a 9/10, instead of upgrading the defense, which is like at a 4/10. The overall impact on Carolina would be better with a pro DT, unless they think DT is deep enough that they can wait till round 2, which they might.

I trust Rivera. If he takes Floyd, I'll trust that he has a good reason for it.

The whole reasoning behind the idea is that he'll be a stud. His stock is flying and I'm doubting my own mock having him drop that far.

LaFell and Gettis are solid, but they aren't world beaters and can be improved upon. Like I said, the Bucs were sold on the group of WRs they had but they found out their limitations when they got exposed more.

Obviously, Carolina needs defensive help more but I gave them Floyd because it is BPA and it wouldn't hurt. I could see them going BPA here easily, but with their limited cap space they may be forced to draft for need.

26.Houston Texans - Devon Still, DT, Penn State

The Texans are a team that doens't have a lot of pressing needs, but they could use some help with the interior defensive line. Still could easily go before this pick and is good value for Houston here.

58.Houston Texans - Mychal Kendricks, LB, California

After losing DeMeco Ryans, Houston could use a 3-4 ILB, and Kendricks would be an excellent fit for that role.

fuck-that--large-msg-118783149215.jpg

With guys Mercilus and McClellin still on board, (shit even Coples) I'd be incredibly pissed off if the Texans drafted Still. Nose tackle is not a need that has to be addressed in the first round. I can pretty much guarantee you that the Texans will either draft a receiver or a rush-linebacker in the first.

Also Houston just signed Bradie James, and re-signed Tim Dobbins. Upgrading ILB would be nice, but again I doubt it gets addressed within the first two rounds.

I was working on a 3rd round, but when I went to dinner and came back my computer went to sleep and restarted everything. I was almost done with it too lol, pissed me off. I may go through and re-do a 3rd round, but I doubt I'll keep doing the commentary.

Claiborne and Martin....fuck yes...

That'd be a sweet consolation prize if we miss out on TRich. Although, I don't think he or Wilson will be there. I think one or both will get snatched up in the late first...leaving us fucked yet again at RB....

I ended up doing the 3rd round and now I'm tempted to do a 4th, I may go all the way and do a 7 round mock lol.

FartWaffles, you guys can have our Coples pick.. We'll take Still. Dude is a crazy mother fucker and wouldn't really fit into the mystique of Lambeau. Enjoy.

And the 3rd round pick is the first that I have to steadfastly disagree with. We drafted a quick and shifty 3rd down back last year in Alex Green. No way we use years 2011 and 2012 picks to select the same player. I could see us taking a RB in the 4-6th rounds, but if we do I think he will be a bigger body.

There's no way we pick a WR in the second round..If we take Hightower in the first,I see us taking a G or NT in the second round, cause we desperately need those positions..It would be stupid wasting that pick..

Just a quick note, I don't know how much every team needs a certain position or what they are looking at specifically. When you get deep into a mock like this, it is pretty hard to do things because there are so many players you think should've gone by now but teams didn't need or things like that, it is pretty tough to juggle it all. I'm trying the best I can, but I just can't know everything about all 32 teams. I usually just go off websites that list team needs and then list out all the guys who I think make sense at that pick and try to pick the best one.

I can't imagine how tough it is to be an executive, so many possibilities and players to look over, it has to be stressful.

well, I think you are doing a great job so far. I don't have the patience to sit down and try to do a mock draft.
