Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Torn shoulder labrum. Damn, sucks for the Bucs. Probably about the only thing they had going for them this year was the fact that Martin and Jackson could help the progression of Glennon. Too bad! Be interesting to see what James can do carrying the load. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000267327/article/doug-martin-has-torn-labrum-out-for-bucs-season Edited October 22, 2013 by Zack_of_Steel Please list a source
Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 22, 2013 Your title is misleading. The Bucs have not said its season-ending yet. They hope to have him back late.
AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted October 22, 2013 Figured this would happen soon enough. Schiano is stuck in the 80's where the NFL used to be a power run league. Martin was getting way too many touches.
BC 331 Posted October 22, 2013 Brian Leonard is going to vulture Mike James on third downs. Fuck you Schiano.
Bucman 891 Posted October 22, 2013 Just keep him out the rest of the year.

BLUE 1,026 Posted November 8, 2013 Per Rotoworld.com: Bucs placed RB Doug Martin on injured reserve with torn labrum in his shoulder, ending his season. Rookie Mike James will be Tampa's feature back the rest of the way, offering RB2/flex value. Martin's sophomore year was a major disappointment after he ranked No. 2 in fantasy scoring among running backs as a 2012 rookie, behind only Adrian Peterson. The future remains bright for Martin in Tampa Bay, but all Bucs skill-position players would likely benefit from a coaching change. And we fully expect one to come this offseason. Through 22 career NFL games, Martin has 13 touchdowns and a 4.3 YPC average. He's lost just two fumbles. Dynasty and keeper league owners should cling tightly to Martin. He's still likely to be a second-round pick in re-draft leagues next year. Nov 8 - 4:08 PM
RazorStar 4,025 Posted November 8, 2013 Alright, I can dump Martin off my fantasy team now. I was stashing him hoping for a late season run, but that's not gonna happen.
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted November 8, 2013 The Buccaneers season was a train wreck before Martin went down and they aren't going to contend for the playoffs or anything. They're better off playing it safe here, even if he does have a shot at returning, and letting him recover the rest of the season. The best thing about this entire deal though is that it's looking like Mike James could possibly be a stud. He's certainly out performed any expectations that I had for him (In terms of a game to game basis).
