Mock with some top 5 shake-ups

Recommended Posts

1. :Texans: DE Jadeveon Clowney

Texans need to add a guy here who can be a cornerstone and help make that 3-4 D work to it's best. This won't be the last chance to get a QB, but it may be the last chance to get a guy to make their front 7 unblockable.

2. :Rams: OT Robinson

By solving their QB mystery, take away the last of his excuses. Even if Bradford is not the guy, you need to be able to give whoever is back there time to throw. The NFCW doesn't mess around, and they will kill you if you cannot block. Getting a stud OT is the only prayer they have at even contending for a wild card spot in the NFC the next few years.

** Trade: :panthers: trade up with :jags: **

3. :panthers: WR Sammy Watkins

They have the biggest arm in the league and don't need really anything else. Make the splash who can complete any kind of deep route at any moment, and this is the best shot they have at winning the NFC this year. Also puts tons of pressure on Cam, by taking away his excuses to not excel. He's now an easy cut/trade decision if he doesn't do SOMETHING with Sammy

** Trade: :49ers: trade up with :Browns: **

4. :49ers: WR Mike Evans

SF is basically drafting to beat Seattle at this point. They need a target who can make catches even against the elite LOB unit. Seattle either has to put all their efforts to stop this guy (creating lanes for Vernon Davis) or let Mike Evans beat them.

5. :Raiders: QB Blake Bortles

The Raiders' only hope at having anything good at all happening for them this season.

6. :Falcons: OT Matthews

Despite having the league's best weapon arsenal on offense, they couldn't be one of the top offenses last tear. Ridiculous. Get the bread and butter aspects of the game in place with improved blocking.

7. :Bucs: CB Gilbert

Totally void of anything good at CB and not necessary required to take quarterback. Take someone who won't bust to get yourselves out of the cellar. This is Lovie Smith's best pick that he is capable of making.

8. :Vikings: QB Bridgewater

See Oakland.

** Trade: :Cowboys: trade up with :Bills: **

9. :Cowboys: OLB Khalil Mack

The most impatient, intolerant GM never settles for less than the best, so he'll fall in love with a player like always who he thinks can be his team's savior. Given where they're at its gotta be the most potent playmaking, turnover causing, havoc-wreaking OLB in the class.

10. :Lions: CB Dennard

Captain Obvious team need while they are set at just about everything else for the most part.

11. :Titans: MLB Mosley

Bad teams take the BPA

12. :Giants: DT Aaron Donald

While they can hopefully improve on offense by getting healthy, they'll take the best overall defensive player available.

13. :Rams: TE Eric Ebron

Once again, they will use as many picks as they have to help Bradford. He will have time to throw this year, and will have people who can create mismatches and catch the football. If they don't get better with this many offensive pieces added, it will clearly be on Bradford and he will be out the first moment when they are eliminated, and their QB mystery will finally be solved.

14. :Bears: Louis Nix III

Worst defense in the league. Best defensive player this pick can possibly get them.

15. :Steelers: OLB Dee Ford

The Steelers are not the Steelers without having mulitple players who can be disguised as either blitzers or zone coverage guys.

16. :Bills: OT Taylor Lewan

They think they might actually have a quarterback worth keeping around for awhile. But they cannot give him the Sam Bradford treatment, or they won't really know for sure. It's not a receiver, but there are enough WRs to feed the entire draft from top to bottom, so you can bet that's where they go day 2 and/or 3.

17. :Ravens: S Calvin Pryor

The Ravens have not been the traditional Ravens on defense. We like their front 7 so far, but their secondary needs the Chancellor type who kills any WR who comes near him.

18. :Jets: WR Marquise Lee

Because.

19. :dolphins: OT Zack Martin

Their whole offensive line is gone, and it's going to suck even when they take Martin. Tannehil will still be sacked a ton this year but maybe they'll manage to give him at least two seconds this year?

20. :Cardinals: OG Xavier Sua-Filo

They need to be able to block somebody. Okay, yes, they won 10 games, but they have a bottom 5 offensive line despite an impressive defense. They wonder why none of their RBs can ever do anything. If they make this pick they might learn why and might be able to continue to hang around in the NFCW all out brawls.

21. :Packers: DE Stephon Tuitt

Why did their defense suck? The trenches. Problem somewhat solved here with a guy who holds the point of attack.

22. :Eagles: WR Brandin Cooks

The only player that comes close to DeSean Jackson and who can make a Chip Kelly offense actually work.

23. :Chiefs: OG David Yankey.

A running football team without one halfways decent guard is like a *insert clever metaphor here*

24. :Bengals: DE/OLB Anthony Barr

James Harrisson and that pass rush gone. Anthony Barr here. Pass rush fixt.

25. :Chargers: CB Verrett

Who cares if it's a reach. The guy is projected to be a steal. Why not slide him up to a team who badly needs a corner.

26. :Browns: Ha-ha Clinton-Dix

BPA and they have a lot of the rest of their roster looking pretty swell.

27. :Saints: DE Lawrence

They need any good pass rusher available.

28. :Browns: QB Derek Carr

Kind of a guess but with a huge need, the price is right.

29. :Patriots: DE Rashede Hageman

Because he's a Patriot.

30. :jags: WR Beckham

Because its the right move.

31. :Broncos: OLB Ryan Shazier

They signed everything but a MLB in free agency so this sounds good.

32. :Seahawks: DE Kony Ealy

Also puts tons of pressure on Cam, by taking away his excuses to not excel. He's now an easy cut/trade decision if he doesn't do SOMETHING with Sammy

This is a hilarious statement. Cam Newton has had, at the least, one of the top-5 best first three years statistically of any QB ever. One season that he didn't do something with a new rookie receiver doesn't wipe out his first three years. That statement would be just as ludicrous if you put the Hawks trading up to get Watkins and replaced Newton with Wilson.

And also, there is no way in hell the Panthers are going to sacrifice what would be necessary to move all the way up to #3 from #28.

Also the Bucs signed Alteraunn Verner, they aren't totally void of anything good at CB.

Cam Newton has 92 touchdowns to 48 turnovers(counting in his lost fumbles), and averages 7.2 yards any time he does anything with the ball(dividing total rushing yards and passing yards combined over total pass attempts and rush attempts), and he somehow still needs to prove himself?

:badass:

The ridiculous expectations for young QBs these days, I swear. Newton is the best young QB in the NFL right now and the only one who even holds a candle to him at the moment is Russell Wilson. People need to lay off of him a bit, especially considering he's put these numbers up with Steve Smith and then a cast of nobodies.

I hope the Panthers are really happy with Watkins, because that's going to be their only pick in this and next year's draft after trading up to 3 from 30.

Not sure why we are picking 30th either, since we have the 28th spot.

The Steelers just re-signed Jason Worilds and last year burned a first round pick on Jarvis Jones, whom they're intent on starting. Why the hell would they waste another pick on an undersized OLB that would automatically be their third string OLB? C'mon, man.

Ya.. this is one of the worst mocks I have seen so far. Has absolutely no semblance of rational thought.. However, I commend you for "shaking it up" at the very least. Thinking outside the box, if you will. Maybe that's just a fancy way of me calling you an idiot -- who knows? Lol. I enjoyed reading it, regardless.

I'm not totally against drafting Gilbert, but even I would be upset if we passed on Bridgewater for him. I'm kind of hoping for a QB or WR in round 1. Verner/Banks could be a solid duo at corner depending on Banks' development and how he fits into Lovie's defense, Lovie doesn't really place a premium on the cornerback position, if he did then Revis would probably still be here. The offense needs more help, we were garbage last year and are talking about a Josh McCown/Mike Glennon QB battle. Our WRs behind Vincent Jackson are Louis Murphy, Lavelle Hawkins, Skye Dawson, Chris Owusu, Eric Page, Tommy Streeter and Russell Shepard. YUCK.
