Vin+ 3,121 Posted May 17, 2014 Sitting at 46 viable candidates thus far (though I could probably trim that down to 38.) Like to get a few more votes.
GA_Eagle 595 Posted May 17, 2014 I already voted but i don't think anyone said Bill Withers or Bob Marley. NNot sure if I'd characterize them as rock music but awesome none the less. There's some female vocalists like Janice Joplin,Liz Phair, Alanis Morrisette and Fiona Apple that could be mentioned.
GA_Eagle 595 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Eric Clapton, too. His voice is awesome. It's not an amazing range but as you can tell by list, I'm into other things than just amazing ranges. It's just as, if not more important to have a cool sound or a smooth tone or something that sets it apart. Like I rate Ian Anderson a lot higher than those that require an amazing range to call someone a great singer... Bware. In fact his tone is cool enough that Anderson would warrant consideration. How about Johnny Cash? I feel like i need a completely new list. Just some others that could flesh out a list: Billy Corgan Rivers Cuomo Trent Reznor Ryan Adams Gordon Downie Ben Harper Chris Isaak Scott Weiland Morrisey David Bowie Gordon Gano Edited May 17, 2014 by GA_Eagle

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted May 17, 2014 I'd say let's put 48 in the pool. Single elimination bracket, the top 16 get a "bye."
