Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted March 11, 2017 Solid... Brought back Nick Perry who might've been the best edge guy in Free Agency and definitely our best pass rusher. Signed Marty B for less than what we offered Jared Cook... Winning. Lose some Oline depth with Tretter going to Cleveland. Lost Micah Hyde to Buffalo... Don't think either eill be that huge of a loss. I liked both guys a lot but there just isn't room for Tretter and Hyde is a nice versatile player but not overly skilled. He was on the field more than any CB but Gunter for us and our pass D was terrible... He is OK covering TEs (as long as they are slow) and OK in the slot if he has help, but playing him on the outside isn't an option. Would like to bring Lang back and Lacy on a very incentive-laden contract.
Warhorse 132 Posted March 13, 2017 Well, there is no where to go but up for the Colt defense. End of the year roster at the LB position with players having more than 8 starts averaged 236 pounds. We have just signed... B. Mingo - NE - 241 J. Sheard - NE - 254 J. Simon - Houston - 257 Have to see it on the field, but maybe we won't get run over like a diesel powered combine when facing a big package.
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) Signing Marty B and Kendricks came out of nowhere and was a pleasant surprise. We have lost multiple guys now but all of them have been overpaid. Seahawks giving Fat Eddy 5.5mill is crazy when they already have Rawls and Prosise. Bringing House back may help the secondary and isn't like he is costing us much. Bakh is the only remaining Packer from our 2013 draft class. So many great players picked after we took Datone Jones too. Edited March 14, 2017 by Packers Dynasty 2010
seanbrock 1,684 Posted March 14, 2017 Starting to get a little worried seeing all these corners come off the market and not sign with the Eagles.
Warhorse 132 Posted March 14, 2017 Starting to get a little worried seeing all these corners come off the market and not sign with the Eagles. Just take a look at the depth in the secondary for the Colts. It is a desert of emptiness.
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted March 16, 2017 Re-sign: LB Dont'a Hightower: Biggest priority in FA. Worse comes to worst he should be franchise tagged. LB Barkevious Mingo: Great ST player. Still think he has a lot of untapped potential on defense as well. DE Chris Long: Solid player... 1-2 year deal sounds about right. FS Duron Harmon: Keep him at the right price FB James Develin: Best FB in the god damn game RB LeGarrette Blount: only at a fair price and a 1-year deal... rather wouldn't see Pats break the bank for Blount. DT Alan Branch: 1-year deal pls CB Malcolm Butler (RFA): No-brainer to keep him. SS Brandon King (exclusive rights FA): ST stud... keep him around. Let 'em walk: CB Logan Ryan: Credit to him, he did play well at the end of the year and into the postseason, but I've seen more bad than good from Logan Ryan over his career. I'm sure several teams will be lining up to offer him a shit ton of money, and he probably won't pan out too well for whatever team he goes to. DE Jabaal Sheard: Definitely enjoyed watching Sheard these past 2 seasons, but he's going to get bigger offers elsewhere. Not to mention Trey Flowers can step in right away. TE Martellus Bennett: Black Unicorn is probably going to get a huge payday. Pats will try to find another solid veteran (Jared Cook?) at a cheaper rate to replace him. RB Brandon Bolden: meh WR Michael Floyd: Just decent for depth is how I see Floyd. Some desperate ass team will pay him. Signed a 4-year deal with Pats worth $43.5m with $19m guaranteed. Extremely fair deal. Like I said a day or two ago, Pats were letting him visit other teams so they could just gauge a good price on him. There really wasn't much doubt that he was coming back. Meanwhile, the wheels are in motion for Butler to move on since he isn't happy which is understandable. I'd rather not see the Pats go through another Logan Mankins situation, so let him sign elsewhere and get a 1st round pick back. Pats will continue to win with him or without him. OSUViking 505 Posted March 16, 2017 Actually pretty pleased with signing Latavius Murray. Didn't even know he was available.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted March 16, 2017 Other than signing Ronald Leary, the Broncos have been pretty silent this free agency period. Not that I mind, there's not a lot out there that matches the needs we have to fill.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted March 16, 2017 Texans are the only team that hasn't signed a free agent that came from a different team. Not really sure what to think of that, but I found it interesting.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted March 17, 2017 Think the Lions did very well, going to be an interesting draft to say the least.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted March 17, 2017 I think the Murray signing is fine, but he's not going to take a lot of carries from McKinnon. Waiting to see if Minny brings Asiata back. His short yardage struggles last season were all on the OL. Got hit in the backfield almost every time.
