Dutch 874 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) 1. Robert Deniro - Ccourtesy of my favorite 2 movies of all time Casino and Good Fellas. Deniro's acting has so much class and swag to it. He's one cool dude. 2. Denzel Washington - He's just the man. Talent wise, Deniro and Denzel Washington are in a class of their own in my opinion. Amazing actors. Outstanding talent. 3. Al Pacino - Is in Deniro's and Denzel's class as well talent wise but I just like the other two a bit better. 4. Johnny Depp - One of the most versatile actors in Hollywood. Some people may consider him an eccentric actor but like Depp a lot. He plays one of my favorite characters ever which is Jack Sparrow. 5. Brad Pitt - He's Brad Pitt. 6. Russel Crowe - Just awesome 7. Robert Downey Jr - R.B.J is an awesome actor. He brings a lot of personality and swag to his characters. I love it. 8. Steve Buscemi - Always has been an underrated actor in my opinion but him starring in BoardWalk Empire should boast his image being one of the hottest shows on tv (my favorite show period). I simply love his character Nucky Thompson and it has been a privilege watching him perform in this role. 9. Samuel L. Jackson - He plays good hard ass / serious dude. 10. Jack Nicholson - Extremely talented and going to go down as an all time great, just not one of my favorites but I respect and recognize his talent. Honorable Mentions: Ian Mckellen - Magneto and Gandalf Liam Nelson - Somewhat underrated but I love his movies James Cromwell - Don't think he had a major role outside of Babe but I like his acting. His characters have presence to them. Mark Wahlberg - I thoroughly enjoyed Shooter and Departed. Charlie Sheen - For lawl purposes. I like his RL stuff better. theMileHighGuy 656 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Hmm, this would be my list right now, but if you asked me tomorrow it would probably be different lol. I'm going to list my favorite male actors, just to cut the field in half lol. Morgan Freeman - This guy is my all-time favorite. Shawshank, Amistad, Seven, Kiss the Girls, New batmans, even his character in Wanted was awesome... "Somebody SHOOT DIS MUTHA FUCKAH!!!" Tom Hanks - Another guy that can play absolutely anything. His list of great movies and performances is too long to get into. Anthony Hopkins - Another potential GOAT. Silence of the Lambs obviously, He's awesome in The Edge. Meet Joe Black and Amistad are some of my other favs of his... and Thor lol. De Niro - Idk if he's ever made a bad movie. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and he's hilarious in the Focker movies. Harrison Ford - Dude was my idol growing up. He's gotten a little odd in his old age but he's still one of the best. Solo, Indiana Jones, you name it. Johnny Depp - It's hard to be as famous as he is, and be completely believable in every role. I don't think there's anything he couldn't play. Nathan Fillion - Incredibly underrated, hilarious, turned a doomed-to-be-cancelled tv show into probably the biggest cult hit ever. He's just as fantastic in Slither and more recently in Castle. Robin Williams - I still think he's one of the funniest people that has ever lived. I watch Mrs. Doubtfire every time it's on. Gene Hackman - I love him in everything. Enemy of the State is probably my favorite movie of his. Chiwetel Ejiofor - Probably best known for playing the Operative in Serenity. He was awesome in American Gangster and the only good actor in 2012. (Also got his break in a small role in Amistad opposite Anthony Hopkins) My honorable mentions: Michael J. Fox, Woody Harrelson, Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt. Tons more lol, idk. edit: I have to put George Clooney and Robert Downey Jr. in my list somewhere. Two of my favs that just slipped my mind atm. Too hard to re-order. Edited October 11, 2013 by theMileHighGuy

badgers 380 Posted October 11, 2013 No one has mentioned Jude Law. I think he is a great actor. Eh, he's good in some, not so good in others. I think most girls overlook his not so good performances cuz he's cute. As far as my favorites go it's very had for me to trim down a list. Mostly because when I think of all the actors I like, I can't think of any that I love more than the others. I don't think I've ever recalled a situation where I noticed that an actor was going to be in a movie and thought, "Wow, that movie suddenly sounds good". I'll throw out a bunch of "likes" though. 1. Will Ferrell - Yeah, comedy actors are barely "actors" but I think he's great anyways 2. Tom Hanks 3. Liam Neeson 4. Matt Damon 5. Robin Williams 6. Morgan Freeman 7. Samuel L Jackson - Had a dream once that albino alligators invaded my house and he recruited me to SWAT to help fight them off. Shit was pretty radical. 8. Al Pacino 9. Brad Pitt 10. Jack Nicholson If I had to pick out of those 10, I'd probably say Nicholson is my favorite. Also, some of you have Johnny Depp on their lists but I guess aside from Pirates, I didn't really like any of his roles in other movies. Thought that the quirky and "out there" persona that he brings to characters doesn't really apply to most roles, but it did Jack Sparrow.
BradyFan81 404 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) If you guys could put down the movies that you like for each actor that'd be cool cause I've been looking for some good movies to watch also I want to expand my knowledge of some classic movies and actors. Like Anthony Hopkins for example, the only movie I've seen with him is Silence of the Lambs which he was awesome in, but what are some of his other greats? 1. De Niro - definitely agree with dutch, the swag factor is off the charts with him especially in those gangster type movies he's in. And Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter, he plays those roles so well. 2. Jack Nicholson - He can be sarcastic, funny, intense, and scary as hell all in the same movie. The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Chinatown are 3 of my favorite movies and he's great in them all. really close 1 and 2 there, almost interchangeable but those are my 2 favorites for sure. 3. Russell Crowe - bad ass, loved him in Gladiator, 3:10 to Yuma, and LA Confidential. Also State of Play and Robin Hood and A Beautiful Mind I enjoyed a lot. I mostly rank him this high because of Gladiator though. I love that movie so much. He's really good in those violent type of movies where he plays a hero or villain, and kills people. 4. Leonardo Dicaprio - definitely brings it in a lot of different quality movies. Inception, Shutter Island, Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can I really like. Even Titanic 5. Matt Damon - I don't think he's AMAZING, but he's been the main actor in a lot of movies I've liked. Good Will Hunting, Rounders, the Bourne series, The Departed, Hereafter, True Grit, and The Adjustment Bureau. He's never really blown me away with any of his performances but he's just been in a ton of movies I like and been solid. 6. Tom Hanks- Forrest Gump obviously, Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan, and The Green Mile are some of my favorites. I mean in Cast Away he's pretty much like the only actor in the move for 90% of the movie. 7. Al Pacino-only movies I've really seen him in are Heat and The Godather 1 and 2 but he is sooooo good in those. 8. Brad Pitt - liked him in Seven, Fight Club, Money Ball, Inglorious Basterds and Troy. Also underrated movies IMO Seven Years in Tibet and Snatch. He's just the man 9. Mel Gibson - Braveheart has to be in my top 3 favorite movies ever. Also liked him in The Patriot and Hamlet. He's just so intense and crazy 10. Denzel Washington - Training Day was great, my favorite movie by him I've seen is Man on Fire, also John Q was good. BwareDWare94 723 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) There are a lot of great actors that haven't even been mentioned yet. I gotta give props to JD for beating me to Nathan Fillion. Note: My computer is really fucking up today (storms), so if I misspell any of the names, I apologize. 10. Nathan Fillion--Watch the Firefly series. Watch Serenity. Watch the Castle series. You'll thank me. 9. Michael Weatherly--NCIS isn't everybody's favorite show, but he's the only character who shows any real emotional depth, and he steals the show. 8. Jake Gyllenhaal--though an overrated movie, his performance in Donnie Darko is flat out excellent, and Zodiac was a fantastic movie with a great performance from him. 7. Jason Segel--Where do I start? Freaks and Geeks. How I Met Your Mother. That's all I should have to mention. This guy is fantastic. 6. Matthew McConaughey--A strange inclusion, I admit, but I really enjoy his perfomances in a lot of films. 5. Jim Caviezel--I saw Frequency and loved it. Then I saw The Passion of the Christ. 4. Zachary Quinto--He sort of makes the new Star Trek films worth watching by himself, and he was excellent in American Horror Story: Asylum. 3. Colin Farrell--He's brilliant. 2. Brendan Gleesan--He's brilliant. 1. Ralph Fiennes--You've seen him play Voldemort. Perhaps you've seen him play Harry in In Bruges. Either way, you know that he's a fantastic actor.
