But it was only after they'd vandalized and spray-painted the statue that they realized it was a "peace monument" designed to encourage national healing in the wake of the Civil War. OSUViking 505 Posted August 19, 2017 I don't think terrorist is an appropriate term here, but I don't know everything AntiFa has done. Regardless, I imagine many in AntiFa are being reactionary so they can implement what they view is right. I don't agree with what they're doing, but I don't think this is comparable to white nationalists of the sort. One is spewing hatred and the other aims to bring about social change. I would say they're very misguided, but they're not terrorists. It's more than possible there are individuals or groups within the that fit that criteria. They (generally) encourage violence to bring about change and use pretty advanced militant techniques to accomplish what they want. New Jersey has also declared them a terrorist group, one of many I am sure who will do the same thing. Definition of terrorist: 1. a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
