Omerta+ 1,206 Posted July 4, 2013 Happy 4th. I have always liked this photo. Many dont realize it and think this is a day for memorializing soldiers (which I appreciate as much as anyone) this is an American day. I have always likened civilians who are the preservation of ideals and intelligent contributions to America as soldiers. They are not on the front lines in a foreign country but they are just as important when it comes to bringing America forward. The soldiers in foreign countries are tired and weary and deserving of a break. It is now up to the civilian soldiers to carry us forward. As messed up and ashamed as I am of our "leaders" at the current time, it is damn nice to know that this is the country I live in. We are far from perfect, but we have the people who care and it will change. Enjoy this day with your family and friends.

This should happen everyday, but especially today, everyone should thank you and express their deep felt gratitude for your honourable service to defending America and her liberties and opportunities, and fly the flag at the highest point on the flag pole!  AMERICA

RANGA+ 1,210 Posted July 5, 2013 Happy Birthday United States! Hope you all have a great time celebrating Sidenote: I know that you might feel a bit disheartened with your government and maybe even a little concerned that the rest of the world doesn't seem to trust you anymore. But don't worry. Your nation is still young. Very young. It has a lot of time to grow and develop into the leader we all know it can be. Because, the simple truth is, if this world is going to move forward in a civilized and democratic manner, it will be on the shoulders of the United States. Never forget who you are, and never stop fighting for the rights which your forefathers bled and died for to preserve under the Constitution.
