Thanatos 2,847 Posted April 25, 2016 This is fucking ridiculous. The court basically somehow ruled that Goodell had the power to do this, which may or may not be true, but giving someone a 4-game suspension on "more likely than not" is just asinine.
BradyFan81 404 Posted April 25, 2016 Don't really give a shit. Should still go 3-1
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted April 25, 2016 Don't really give a shit. Should still go 3-1 Yep. Let Goodell and his pathetic crew of dipshits have this W. Won't change things in the long run. Doesn't get in the way of the Pats' path of going to a record setting 6th straight AFC Championship appearance. Business as usual.

Vin+ 3,121 Posted May 23, 2016 Tom Brady will file an appeal Monday for a second hearing by the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn his four-game Deflategate suspension. A surprise to nobody. Brady had until Monday to file this appeal after the U.S. Appeals Court ruled in favor of the NFL on April 25 that Brady's four-game ban be reinstated. This ordeal has been going on for nearly 500 days now, and an end doesn't appear to be in sight. "The facts here are so drastic and so apparent that the court should rehear it," said Brady's lawyer, Theodore Olson. Source: ESPN.com Move it up to the Supreme Court. Let's do this. .AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted May 23, 2016 So if Brady wins this, can the NFL appeal his appeal of their appeal of his appeal?
oochymp 2,393 Posted May 23, 2016 So if Brady wins this, can the NFL appeal his appeal of their appeal of his appeal? I'm not great with federal practice, but I'm pretty sure this is past all automatic appeals, meaning they have to petition each court to hear the matter. I do know that if Brady wins this then the NFL would need to petition the Supreme Court for a writ of cert to have it heard and it would almost undoubtedly be denied. Thanatos 2,847 Posted May 23, 2016 Yeah I don't see any way the Supreme Court takes this.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted May 23, 2016 They're just a bunch of dummies who didn't know what they were doing. Tom Brady's appeal in the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals argues that two judges who sided with the NFL to have Brady's suspension reinstated "got the law wrong." Brady's team is asking the three judges who heard his initial case (two voted nay, one yay) to "rehear their arguments." "The panel decision stands in stark contrast with fundamental rules of labor law and undermines the rights of union members and employers alike," Brady attorney Theodore Olson wrote. "This court should grant rehearing or rehearing en banc." According to the Boston Herald, Brady has "told friends since January 2015 that he'll go to his grave believing he did nothing wrong" in the so-called Deflategate. On a personal note, we CAN'T WAIT for this whole thing to go away. Source: Boston Herald

FartWaffles 1,857 Posted July 13, 2016 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1163/tom-brady The Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has denied Tom Brady's request for a rehearing in his Deflategate case. Brady's next course of action is to appeal to the Supreme Court. It's looking more and more likely that Brady will have to serve his four-game ban to open the season. Jimmy Garoppolo is penciled in as the Weeks 1-4 starter.

FartWaffles 1,857 Posted July 15, 2016 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1163/tom-brady Tom Brady announced he will "no longer proceed in the legal process" of appealing his four-game suspension as a result of Deflategate. And it's finally over. Deflategate dragged out about two years, with both Brady and the NFL going back and forth in the courts, but at least Brady is putting an end to this thing by accepting his punishment, though we doubt he'll ever admit to any wrongdoing. Jimmy Garoppolo will start the first four games of the year before Brady is eligible to return against the Browns. Knock Brady down a few pegs in fantasy, but he remains a top-ten quarterback.
