westbrookforsix 28 Posted October 17, 2011 And because Rex Grossman was the Redskins QB Ryan Torain averaged 2.2 yards per carry because Rex Grossman's your QB? Interesting. Blame the guy throwing it to them but your WR's got owned by our corners, who were finally playing like they are supposed to. That's why he had to check down to Fred Davis over and over and over. Don't underestimate how important it was for the Eagles to FINALLY start the right two safeties in Coleman and Allen. That made a huge difference in both the run and pass defense (obviously... with Coleman snagging 3 picks and Allen getting the 4th). So I don't think Beck would have made a big difference. Touchdown 1 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Saints lost for so many reasons, not least - 1) they couldn't run the ball, 2) Sean Payton got a messed up leg early on, 3) 4 turnovers will lose you games, 4) Bucs played better overall. But still, NO could have won it at the end there but for the interception. Tough loss, Bucs deserved their win. We will still top the NFC South in the long run, though. BwareDWare94 723 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) We lost because we couldn't take turnovers and turn them into TDs. We also lost because of some major home-cooking in NE. Lots of phantom penalties, but you gotta play the stripes when you go to Foxborough, too. We should have anticipated that and been more aggressive on offense. KiLaSix9+ 398 Posted October 17, 2011 Special teams did an amazing job of not giving Sproles too many opportunities to run back kicks and when they did, the tackling was spot on. The defense, with the infusion of Tanard Jackson, played a good game. Early on they shut down their ground game, like they did against Atlanta and played solid coverage. During the second half, the pass rush became effective and forced Brees to make bad throws. It also helped that the offense scored early and had the big play to Benn. My biggest fear was that they'd start slow like usual and be in a deep hole against an explosive offense that is the Saints.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 24, 2011 Newton was on point with 18-23 in the passing game, and made some ridiculous runs to extend plays. More importantly, I only saw a single errant pass- errant in that it could have been picked off. His other four incompletions were either throwing the ball away, or putting it in such a way that only the WR could catch it, and they just didn't come up with it. The run-game did well, but not as well as I would like them to. The defense played well, but ditto running-backs, they need to play better than that if we're going to beat good teams, which Washington is not. And Steve Smith was Steve Smith. He is just incredible with a good QB back at the helm.
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted October 24, 2011 LaMarr Woodley had a monster game, Ben looked very good, and Wallace had that one really big reception.
Jayrus 51 Posted October 24, 2011 Why did the Seahawks lose? I'd say it was a combination of bad officiating, a mountian of injuries, and just plain failure on offense. I can only pray T-Jack, Lynch, and Miller are ready to go next week against the Bengals.

Touchdown 1 Posted October 24, 2011 Saints won because they were the superior team...to the Colts...who weren't very good. 62-7. 'Nuff said.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted October 24, 2011 1. Defense only surrendered one touchdown. 2. Ground game domination by both Foster and Tate. 3. Play-action pass opened up, because of the success running the ball.

Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 24, 2011 Saints won because they were the superior team...to the Colts...who weren't very good. 62-7. 'Nuff said. Those last two drives by New Orleans was just pathetic, (On Indy's part). After Daniels went in, the Saints did literally nothing but run the ball, and they still scored 14 more points. Duck Fallas 209 Posted October 25, 2011 We decided to revert to the team that everyone expected when the season started, not the surprising 3-1 team of a couple weeks ago.
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted October 25, 2011 The Falcons beat the Lions today because of a few things, 1. Pressure on Matt Stafford - The Falcons kept the pressure on Stafford, making him get rid of the ball quickly without being able to go through his reads. Sean Weatherspoon made his presence known on just about every down that he got to rush the quarterback. The interior of the defensive line got pushes the entire game. 2. Kept Calvin on planet earth - Although he did go over 100 yards on 5 receptions, most were on his one touchdown catch. Other than that play, Calvin Johnson was kept on planet earth. He was NOT going to be the guy to beat the Falcons. Brent Grimes played great against him and even came up with some huge wins in the air against Johnson which happens very rarely. 3. Run, Run, Run! - We ran the football consistently and effectively. I'm not the biggest Michael Turner fan, but I have always recognized that we need to run the ball to win. Turner ran over 20 times in Sundays win for over 100 yards. It was another great performance on route to a win. The Falcons are clearly NOT a passing team. They need to live by the run. AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted October 26, 2011 1. Offense didn't show up till the 4th quarter. 2. Josh Freeman sucked and turned over the ball too much. 3. Had no running game when Graham got hurt. 4. Couldn't stop Matt Forte.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted October 26, 2011 We won because we played the worst team in football, the Rams.
badgers 380 Posted October 26, 2011 The Packers won because our offense can't be stopped. Or at least nobody has found out how, yet.

badgers 380 Posted October 26, 2011 It's actually easier when they're going against Can Cameron's derp offense... It's weird though, wasn't he the OC when San Diego went 14-2 and had that unstoppable offense until the playoffs?
RazorStar 4,025 Posted October 26, 2011 The strength of our defense, and Tebow came to play in the last 5 minutes. And we recovered an onside kick.
KiLaSix9+ 398 Posted October 26, 2011 Josh Freeman. In all fairness, if we would have won I'd say his name too.
AL_Royalty 489 Posted October 26, 2011 The defense went off with six picks and two TDs, The offense really only turned it over once—the other was a air-it-out last play of the half—and Oakland is TURRible. There will still plenty of people out there that thought even without Campbell, we'd get stomped, and it didn't happen. Haters be damned. The Chiefs won because they are a much better team than almost anyone is giving them credit for being.
