JetsFan4Life 542 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Every day I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. Now that I've actually stuck to working out for a consistent amount of time it's finally paying off. Oh and I'm moving out of my parent's house next Sunday to an apartment with my friend. Right across the street from a frat house too. Should be interesting times. Edited August 10, 2014 by JetsFan4Life
OSUViking 505 Posted August 12, 2014 At the beginning of the summer, I decided to change my workout routine. I had been doing stuff like Air Alert and T25, but I couldn't get in to those. I decided to start bulking and attending the gym with my friend. At the end of this summer, I've gained more than ten pounds (went 160 to 172), and I'm definitely seeing results. Getting a hell of a lot stronger, too.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted August 13, 2014 I had a conversation with a really good friend of mine that I realized I had developed feelings for about six months ago, and she said she had been waiting for me to make a move for a year.

Bucman 891 Posted August 13, 2014 Started to cut the pop and fast food out of my life in July along with going to the gym. Started out July at 185 pounds, down to 162 today .

Sarge+ 3,436 Posted August 13, 2014 Yea, one of these days, I'm gonna kick soda to the curb completely. Not today, though.

Bucman 891 Posted August 14, 2014 Yeah now with working out I have to decide if I want to diet too but right now I'm just like ehh. Good on you though. Always a good feeling when your coworkers notice the difference. It's been rough not drinking any pop, way tougher than I thought it was going to be.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted August 17, 2014 I've been eating healthier (and less, most importantly) since March and am down from 260 to 245. My goal is about 220-225. I'm that lucky asshole who can be that fucking heavy and still look great, so I'm going to roll with it. Getting any thinner than 220 and I'd probably look awkward.
BradyFan81 404 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) Started to cut the pop and fast food out of my life in July along with going to the gym. Started out July at 185 pounds, down to 162 today . That's really good man. I stopped drinking soda April 2013. A big difference I noticed is with my teeth, my teeth are sooo much whiter now than they used to be when I was drinking Coke/Mountain Dew/Root beer etc every day. It's really tough but I think it's worth it. Maybe someday I will start having it once a week which would probably be fine and not unhealthy, but I don't trust myself to be able to not get addicted to it again if I started doing the once a week thing. I've also gotten in really good shape this summer. Well, relative to my standards. I've gone from about 190 which I hovered at for a while to 161. I started May 11th, exercising and cutting calories a little. About a month ago I started eating a lot more vegetables, which is a big deal for me because I've never really eaten vegetables before.. Carrots and green beans at least 4 times a week. Then at the same time I started to reallly get intense with my workouts, run about 1.5-2 miles a day and shoot baskets for about 30 minutes too on some days. I definitely feel better right now than I have in my entire life. The fun part is that I'm just so proud of my progress that it motivates me more to get even more intense with it and keep eating healthy and exercising a lot. I still have a ways to go though, I have a good amount of stomach fat that is going away, but very slowly and I'd like to tone my chest area a lot more. I want to get down to 150, but after that I'm not really sure what to do. I'll probably still have a lot of excess fat that I want to get rid of, but I'm a little under 5'11'' and I don't want to drop into the 140s. I must have a reallly high body fat% or something which is not good. At some point I think I'm gonna want to stay the same weight but just replace the fat with muscle. Not really sure how I'm going to go about doing that But overall now that it's winding down to the end of summer, I'm really glad I spent this summer working hard at this and staying disciplined rather than wasting it away eating like shit and being lazy. I feel like I have a lot more confidence now as well Edited August 18, 2014 by BradyFan81
AL_Royalty 489 Posted August 19, 2014 Never posted in here before, but that's not to say I've never had good news. In the spirit of the thread though, I suppose it bares mentioning that I'm going to school for the first time since high school (2000) due to work making an investment in me. They're sending me to Stark State for 8 various certificates that will make me that much better at my job as well as more attractive to prospective future employers. Kinda cool. I've wasted time while grinding on the wrong shit my whole life. It's nice to see that doing the right things might actually be beneficial in the long run.

ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted August 20, 2014 Through a series of fortunate events... I work as a security guard at a county courthouse in PA. I work with the Sheriff's office and the city police department and multiple other law enforcement agencies. Because of my military experience and lack of diversity in central PA law enforcement. The assistant chief of police formally extended an invite to the city police academy. He told me as long as I pass my initial testings, and clear the background check and pass the academy. I am a guaranteed hire for the city. I've been blessed. Life has taken me all over, as some of you know. But this seems to be my foot in the door to the real world of adulthood. My activity here will be significantly less in due time for preparation for the academy. I love you all. Thank you for some great years and memories. This isn't goodbye just yet, but prepare for a TGP without ATL for possibly over a year.
JetsFan4Life 542 Posted August 20, 2014 Better hope that background check doesn't include Twitter Charlie. Seriously though congratulations and I wish you best of luck in the academy. Just moved into an apartment with my friend Sunday (and another friend and his girlfriend live upstairs since it's a duplex). First time not living with my parents but this is awesome especially because we're all really good friends. I still have tons of unpacking to do and we won't have electricity until Tuesday (which isn't that huge of a problem because we ran an extension cord from upstairs down to our apartment along with a power strip to power things like our fridge). Its been awesome so far and I'm ready to actually be independent (other than laundry....still going to the parent's for that because it's not far and fuck laundromats).
