Vin+ 3,121 Posted May 7, 2014 So it's been a couple years since we've done this, and it's probably too late to, but I figured we could give it a shot. You have up until 15 minutes before the draft to submit your mocks.

Dutch 874 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) 1. Khalil Mack, OLB - Surprise. While Clowney might be the most talented athlete, Mack is the better pass rusher in my eyes executing much better technique and pass rush moves while Clowney relies on his athletic ability. Mack would be a perfect fit in a 3-4 in my opinion while Clowney is more of a 4-3 DE. 2. Sammy Watkins, WR - Clowney is still on the board but the Rams desperately need to get some offensive weapons so they pick up the best offensive weapon on the board to try and get their offense on the map in a tough defensive division. 3. Jadeveon Clowney, DE - Clowney finally gets taken off the board and Gus Bradley is ecstatic to have Clowney at his disposal being a defensive minded guy. Clowney appears to be a natural fit in a 4-3 scheme and Gus will know how to use him. 4. Mike Evans, WR - The Browns add more offensive power to their playing making group complimenting Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron. They create a nice trio of aerial weapons that will undoubtedly cause problems for opposing defenes. 5. Johnny Manziel, QB - Yes the Raiders picked up Schaub but he is but a mere stop gap. The Raiders couldn't resist the potential play making ability of Manziel and gamble on him hoping he can be their guy whether it's right now or on the side lines his first year. 6. Greg Robinson, OT - The Falcons have to keep Matt Ryan alive considering how much they invested into him; their offense in general. He can't throw the ball to Julio if he's getting slammed as soon as he hikes the ball. 7. Teddy Bridgewater, QB - Supposedly are looking to trade Glennon. Josh Mccown is an old man and Lovie Smith wants to groom his own guy. 8. Blake Bortles, QB - The Vikings don't have a viable starting QB on their roster and Mike Zimmer wants to get his own guy as well. Bortles looks the part in being NFL ready and they need an intelligent QB to operate in Norv Turners system. 9. Eric Ebron, TE - Bills drafted E.J Manuel in the 1st round last year. They need to add some weapons around him and give him a play making TE who has game changing capability. 10. Justin Gilbert, CB - Lions secondary is pretty bad and they need help to go against Aaron Rodgers and company and the Bears having the best WR tandem in the league. 11. Aaron Donald, DT - Titans definitely need some secondary help but their is value in secondary players in lower rounds. Donald is a great pick at #11 considering the drop off at DT which I think is worse than the dropoff at secondary players. Donald beefs up their d-line in a big way. 12. Jake Matthews, OT - Eli needs help from his O-line. 13. Taylor Lewan, OT - Rams already got one of the best play making offensive players in this draft for Braford. Now they add an offensive lineman to protect him so he can throw to his new receiver. The Rams capitalize by getting a top impact player in Watkins while still addressing the need for O-line help. 14. Calvin Pryor, S - Bears decide to get a play making hard hitting safety to help set the tone for their defense. 15. Darqueze Dennard, CB - Steelers lost a quality corner in Keenan Lewis a year ago and Ike Taylor is getting old so the Steelers grab Dennard and groom him in DIck Lebeau's defense. 16. Anthony Barr, OLB - The Cowboys future Hall of Famer Demarcus Ware departed to Denver and the Cowboys defense is horrible. So they start out trying to make it better by adding the an explosive pass rusher. 17. Hasean Clinton-Dix, S - Think the Ravens go safety here. They slide Matt Elam over to strong safety where he seems comfortable at and puts Hasean at free safety. 18. Odell Beckham Jr, WR - The Jets picked up 3 offensive players in the offseason in Eric Decker, Chris Johnson and Michael Vick. They continue to try and bolster their offense to try and score some points and pick up a Beckham who would be a good fit for a Marty Mornhinweg offense and adds special team value. 19. Zack Martin, OT - Tannehill got smashed behind his o-line last year getting sacked 58 times. They need to get better in this area. 20. Brandin Cooks, WR - The Cardinals already have a solid defense. Dansby did depart but Arians wants to get more explosive on offense and nabs Cooks with the 20th pick. 21. C.J Mosley, ILB - The Packers get tougher at their linebacker core and add a player maker who's going to be a stud for them. Mosley, Matthews, Hawk (Peppers?) should make their defense more formidable; especially against the run. 22. Kyle Fuller, CB - Kyle Fuller is one of the most versatile corners in this draft. He doesn't excel in any particular area but he is solid in just about every area. He can press, play off, and he is a physical corner who isn't scared to tackle. He also has good length to him as well so the Eagles invest into a long term answer at CB. 23. Marqise Lee, WR - The Chiefs need more weapons on offense so they get Lee. 24. Bradley Roby, CB - The Bengals need an answer at corner with Leon Hall always hurt and Terrance Newman getting older. 25. Jason Verrett, CB - Corner is an area of need for the Chargers and they get a capable corner in Verrett. 26. Derek Carr, QB - The Browns take Carr with their 2nd 1st round pick adding some competition at the position and letting the best QB win. 27. Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB - The Saints try to get more dangerous on defense and pick up a quality OLB that can rush the passer. Solid pick up in my opinion. 28. Davante Adams, WR - Surprise. Might be considered a reach but Adams is a sleeper in my opinion and Cam to Adams would be dynamic. 29. :Patriots: Stephon Tuitt, DE - The Patriots continue to get more dangerous on the defensive side of the ball and they get a great talent who is disruptive in the run game as well as the pass. 30. Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB - Both of the starting CBs of the 49ers are with the Raiders so they address a need here with a big and tall physical corner. 31. Ryan Shazier, OLB - The Broncos add more speed at the LB position. 32. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE - The Superbowl Champs get Russell Wilson a big new toy to play with and gives him a huge security blanket in the passing game Edited May 7, 2014 by Dutch

ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) 1. QB Blake Bortles - Must take a QB here, Clowney may be the best player in this draft, but the Texans still have holes in that secondary that need to be fixed. They have the first pick for a reason. And adding more to a strength while looking away from their biggest weakness at QB would be stupid. 2. (trade) DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney - I've said it before...and I'll say it again. As long as the Texans don't take Clowney...it's almost a 100% guarantee that Dimitroff trades up with last season's trade partner to get Trufant. Clowney is what the Falcons have been searching for for far too long. 3. DE/OLB Khalil Mack- Jags miss out on Clowney, but David Caldwell knows very well that Khalil Mack is in the same tier of defensive potential as Clowney. Gus Bradley gets a cornerstone of a slowly improving Jags defense here. 4. QB Teddy Bridgewater - Browns could either go the route of Johnny or Teddy here. Personally, I think Teddy would do great things in Cleveland. The allure of Johnny is great, but the Browns want someone that they can depend on...both on and off the field. Teddy to Gordon for 6. 5. QB Johnny Manziel - The place where all players NFL careers go to die right? Raiders don't have issues with taking players with off-field distractions, and possibly give Johnny the best possibility of being himself. Raiders let Johnny be Johnny...and the Raiders gonna Raider. 6. (trade) OT Jake Matthews - Sam Bradford is fragile. The offense is young, and on the cusp of being an above average offense. Rams have the QB, they just need to protect him. Matthews is the safest pick in this draft, and the Rams will reap the benefits of the trade with the Falcons here 7. WO Sammy Watkins - Well damn. Bucs don't necessarily need to take a QB, give Glennon a full-offseason and then add Sammy Watkins and a healthy Doug Martin and the Bucs will be alright. 8. QB Derek Carr - Mike Zimmer isn't here to play games. Everybody knows the Vikings need a QB. Is this a bit of a reach? Is it considered a reach if it's a desperate position of need and it's a coherent QB? Zimmer gets a great QB and can focus on putting the remaining pieces around him shortly. 9. OT Greg Robinson - Raw, but has quite the ceiling. Bills would do good to protect Manuel and get a mauler to pave running lanes for Spiller and Jackson. 10. WO Mike Evans - Too easy right? OG David Yankey As an avid Texans fan I can say I see why you say QB is #1 for us. However, Clowney is a special talent that will be very hard to pass up no matter how much you may want him for your team. The reason I think Texans pass on QB @ #1 is that they may feel it is well worth the risk to catch a slider QB and trade back up to get him. So far, all top three QB's have been tipped to slide and in a draft this strong, it is very possible one falls all the way down to #33. I can guarantee you Clowney will not be there @ #33. They have 11 picks and Clowney may garner a trade even as far down as the Bills - depending on who is still left on the board. Worst case scenario - they get "stuck" with Clowney.
BC 331 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) 1, Ckowney After seeing how much they want I can't believe an RG3 type deal would go down. That would be too much like Draft Day and I'd rather everyone be smarter. 2. Greg Robinson When you play in a division with a bunch of nasty front sevens as well as have a QB that you need to see can make things happen, you have to make this pick 3. Sammy Watkins I just hope I'm not over estimating their front office. I guess they can be smart if they take Mack as well. 4. Khalil Mack Cleveland needs to make Cleveland a tough place to come play with a stout D in that cold weather. A Khalil Mack type impact player makes Cleveland instantly tough on D another 1st to get the QB to boot 5. Johnny Manziel A good place for him to go bust 6. Jake Mathews A whole lot invested in Matt Ryan and Julio Jones theres no way they do that trade up for defense garbage to not regain the strength in blocking they need. 7. I can see them trading up, but in that scenario theyre certainly giving up next years 1. Cant see that happening
RazorStar 4,025 Posted May 8, 2014 The 49ers have two second rounders (Alex Smith trade) and three third rounders (one compensatory, and one from the Justin Hunter trade last year). I think there is enough ammo there to make a big leap up.
