Turry 755 Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) ppg: Seattle: 19.7 Bears: 21.3 Total YPG: Seattle: 322 Chicago: 350 Apposing QBR: Seattle: 74.8 Chicago: 79.3 Pass TD-INT Seattle: 18-22 Chicago: 22-20 YPC: Seattle: 3.8 Chicago: 4.0 Rushing YPG: Seattle: 112 Chicago: 96 Brandon Marshall is without a doubt the best receiver b/w the two teams. But after that, it's a lot spottier. Alshon has yet to proved he can stay in shape, Earl Bennett is inconsistent. Doug Baldwin outperfomed all of them. And he was a rookie last year. If Rice can stay healthy he is just as viable of an option as Marshall. Undersized pass rsh specialist*... It becomes a lot easier to rush the QB when you are coming off the edge as a stand up lb, and that's all that's asked of you. And regardless, they had the same amount of sacks last year... The Hawks add a pass rush specialist to make their pass rush better, the Bears add an undersized DE. Fair enough, everyone would take the later. Nobody is gonna argue with that, but the Seahawks were the better against the pass in almost every category, save INT. And all there guys are young, and improving. When was this? lol. The Seahawks have outscored you both times you've played in the last 2 years... But anyways, the Hawks have more depth on offense. Anyways, both teams have a lot of questions coming in this year. I just think the Seahawks, being they are in a worst division have a better chance of making it out then the Bears. I think he meant in the 2010 - 2011 Divisional play off round. We always have been in the middle of the road pass defense. That how we are as a D we let them get close and shut them down in red zone. Its funny though when we started the year our Pass D was not so good as it was when Cutler and Forte went down. Seattle has one of the best young secondaries in the NFL no denying that. Brandon Browner who represented the CFL quite nicely. I was a big fan of Sherman when I saw him during the Senior Bowl. Defensive line for Seattle you got a very underrated group in Red Bryant who is a beast and Chris Clemons who has 22 sacks in the past two seasons. Alan Branch looked good as depth and Mebane is a monster against the run. However Their LB core is pretty weak and to compare them to Urlacher and Briggs and Roach makes me lol (not saying you were but I saw someone mention it)but were also very thin at depth behind our two pro bowl LB's. I also really like the signing of Kelvin Hayden. He has expericence in the cover two and will probably be our 4 th CB but he can also see some time in the slot. However we need Henry Melton to be the Under tackle that Tommie Harris once showed. Without pressure from the inside the tampa/ cover 2 is not nearly as a affective. butta54 371 Posted June 17, 2012 Yes I was referring to the playoff match and we weren't that challenged in that game so I don't see how people feel they can handle us. I'm not arguing who will make it to the playoffs. I just saw us losing to the Seahawks in a playoff matchup. If we face them our defense as much as you can point out negatives will put the clamps on. With a offense actually moving the ball and giving our defense a rest we will be that much more dangerous. And like I said they have depth at receiver but no over the top player out wide who commands everyone's attention. And no Rice does not fit that description, maybe for one year back in Minnesota but right now he has to prove he is that star talent still.

DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted June 17, 2012 And im not saying the Bears are worst then the Seahawks (even though I think I did say that on the first page). I just think they have a better chance of making it to the playoffs, and a large part of that has to do with the fact that they play in a easier division that I could even see them winning if they can stay healthy offensively. seanbrock 1,684 Posted June 17, 2012 I'm not hearing anything that has really changed since last year besides the POSSIBILITY of Flynn being effective. And their offense will be good not dangerous. Depth at WR means nothing but they have a group of talented WRs and no elite talent at the position. One of the best run stopping defensive lines I'll agree, but still not comparing to the Bear's defense. The Patriots won 3 Super Bowls with Troy Brown, David Givens, David Patton and Deion Branch as their WR corps. Having a bunch of solid WR's can work.

True Blue 16 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) When did the Seahawks defense become better or close to the Bears?? And our receivers hardly better? Who was viable at wideout outside of Mike Williams? And you think Mike Williams compares to Brandon Marshall who I would pick over the Seahawk's first three WR put together. Alshon Jeffery is a physical freak when in shape and Bennett does his job in the slot. Now to their defense you add in a undersized pass rusher to replace Curry who didn't cut it as a pass rusher and you sport a D-Line that does good at stopping the run, but isn't a pass rushing force (hence the Irvin pick). Now you compare Hill and Hawthorne to Urlacher and Briggs and answer that for yourself. You have better coverage in the secondary, but what we lack in coverage skill we make up for in turnovers with our secondary. IF Flynn does well you are an improving offense. We however have already shown that we can score with Cutler and he did it pretty easily against the Seahawks not long ago. Add in our new weapons and offense and YES THIS IS A LOL @ the Seahawks beating us if they even make the playoffs Last year. Total D: SEA - 9th CHI - 17th Scoring D: SEA - 7th CHI - 14th Pass D: SEA - 11th CHI - 28th Run D: CHI - 5th SEA - 15th Sacks: SEA - 19th CHI - 19th Also, Seattle with a rebuilding team has beaten the Bears last two years in the regular season.
