BJORN 679 Posted October 19, 2016 Broncos offensive line is shit and Whiz + Rivers orchestrated two near perfect drives in the first half.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted October 23, 2016 Our defense balled out and the Vikings had a bad day.
OSUViking 505 Posted October 23, 2016 Offensive line was a hug problem. McKinnon seemed to occasionally find a hole, but then they would close and the Eagles seemed to be able to get to Bradford with ease. Gotta give some credit to the Eagles defense, though. Bradford wasn't under this much duress against a good Texans front. That's another thing. Bradford has played well so far, but when is it gonna stop? It may have stopped today, or maybe he picks it for a few games before blowing it again, who knows. I've been expecting him to fail at some point, and I think today might have been it. Hopefully, I'm wrong. But yeah, basically what Stevo said. Eagles played well on D/ST, and the Vikings played horribly on offense.
Cherry 1,302 Posted October 23, 2016 We spent the first overall pick on a backup to a fucking chump.
seanbrock 1,684 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Very good game plan by the coaches on both sides of the ball. Jim Schwartz has always hung his hat on getting to the QB with 4 rushers and playing coverage but today he dialed up a lot of blitzes from all over the place and it worked. Doug Pederson stuck with Big V and focused on misdirections balanced play calling and getting the ball out of Carson Wentz's hands fast to help negate some of the pass rush the Vikings bring. Carson Wentz sruggled badly in the first half but looked much better in the second half even though he still looked jittery. Oh and speaking of coaches Dave Fipp is one of the guys we kept after firing Chip and for good reason. He's the best in the business. Kicking game, kick coverage and the return game played to perfection. Edited October 24, 2016 by seanbrock
RazorStar 4,025 Posted October 24, 2016 I watched the Seattle Arizona game in it's entirety so I already kind of feel like a loser.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted October 24, 2016 Over-coaching. They tried to do way too much on offense and had multiple things sabotage drives, most notably a stupid OL rotation which does not work in the NFL, and stupid play calls at the worst of times like giving the ball to Zack fucking Line on 3rd and short. Stupid stupid stupid. Great gameplan by the QB triumvirate, not allowing Wentz to be sacked even once against a significantly better front 7 than they faced last week when Carson was sacked 5 times. oochymp 2,393 Posted November 7, 2016 this was another game where we did just enough to lose, the defense played okay overall, but we couldn't do shit to slow down Gordon, the offense looked really good in spurts, but really shitty in other spurts, and the shitty spurts spotted San Diego 17 points, there aren't many teams that can recover from those sorts of mistakes and we're not one of them Mariota has a really bad tendency to make his turnovers in spots that make it easy for the opposing defense to turn them into points, does anyone know if anyone keeps track of defensive TDs by the offensive player that gave up the ball? I would be really interested to see that breakdown for Mariota
Thanatos 2,847 Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Because the defense is starting to gel and played out of their minds for the second straight week, while the offense did just enough to win. #FireGrahamGano though. Seriously. Dude already cost us at least one, likely two, games how many more big kicks does he have to miss to get the boot? .AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted November 8, 2016 Saw the stat on ESPN, Mariota has given up five defensive TDs, nobody else in the league has given up more than three From a post on football's future - Going back to this Mariota thing... can we chalk up some/all the returns to bad luck? When you look at his numbers, he's improved in nearly every statistical category: completion %, TD %, Int %, TD:Int ratio, py/g, qb rating, etc... This is not to completely excuse him, because his Int % is one of the worst in the league (only Tannehill, Winston, Osweiler, Bortles, Keenum, Gabbert, and Fitzpatrick are worse than him this year... not good company at all). But the fact that he's had 4 turnovers returned for TDs is clearly an anomaly. There have been 32 defensive TDs in the NFL this year... and 4 of them have come on Mariota TO's.... that's 12.5%. Yet, he's only turned the ball over 12 times compared to the 348 total turnovers in the league so far this year... 3.5%. That means that if you take away Mariota, defenses league wide have returned 28 defensive TDs on 336 turnovers... or 8.3% of the time.... but 25% of Mariota's TO's are being returned for TDs... which is more than 3 times the norm. Some of that falls on Mariota... but some of that has to be placed directly on some bad luck. As an extra couple of kick in the pants... guess how many of those 32 defensive TDs we've produced... and guess how many fumbles we've recovered on D all year. Ugh... 56AceInDaPlace 110 Posted November 10, 2016 Our run defense looked as bad as it ever has before. And Mariota's turnovers in crucial moments is what lost us this game. The offense still put up 35. But when you spot 17 points, and the other team scores 43.. not going to win many games like that. Count on a repeat this week against Green Bay. Rodgers will dice us and Mariota will have a turnover late to cost us a close game.

RazorStar 4,025 Posted November 14, 2016 The refs gifted us a win against the Saints. They had us beat dead to rights, Brandin Cooks cooked our defensive backs, but we were allowed to have our guy jump over the long snapper to block the punt (a penalty) and then have the PAT returner go out of bounds (which he clearly was) and that won us the game. So I'll take it, but I feel bad for Saints fans who had to watch that. You got robbed.

Thanatos 2,847 Posted November 14, 2016 Newton tried to force a ball when we were up 17-6 that he had no reason to force. We were throwing up 17-6 against an offense that couldn't move the ball. We had a 20-play drive that resulted in zero points. Our coach decided to, once again, run 3 times and then punt when we actually had time to make a balanced drive, and then after our ST once again committed yet another holding penalty, decided to go for broke anyway from our own 20 with :29 left and no timeouts. Shula has to go and if Rivera doesn't have the balls to kick him to the door, he needs to go with him.
