You could make an argument that these are the two best players in the business, though this decision was actually quite easy for me. As I said in the sweet sixteen thread, Revis plays the hardest position in football and makes a living by shutting down the best receivers in the business. I'm not sure how this guy could be a better football player. Brady is right up there with him, but his recent playoff woes lose him some points with me.

 

Troy Polamalu > Phillip Rivers

I'll keep this one short. Rivers is an elite quarterback who I would have no problem with as the quarterback of my franchise, but Polamalu may be the most dominating player in the league. He has a great supporting cast around him, yes, but just watch a Steelers game and you'll see what I mean. The guy is always around the ball, always making plays. The fact that Rivers hasn't had success in the playoffs is also a minor factor.

 

Aaron Rodgers > Andre Johnson

Probably the best quarterback against the best receiver here, so this is a tough call. I could go on about how both players are great at what they do but I'll cut to the chase. A-Rod gets my vote because he has all the extra stuff, the icing on the cake. He's a great leader, a class act, and above all, a fucking winner. And I say "fucking" for a reason. Terrible offensive line? Receivers not catching shit? Not getting anything from the run game? No problem. Put Rodgers in and we'll win the game.

 

Nnamdi Asomugha > DeMarcus Ware

People may not agree with my reasoning here, but these guys are about as great and dominating players as you could expect. The difference? Cornerback is slightly harder to play than outside linebacker.
