blotsfan 2,112 Posted September 26, 2011 Basically what I said we needed for a chance to win. 1. We had to play well. 2. Pats had to have an off day. 3. We needed turnovers. 4. A bit of luck.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted September 26, 2011 We suck... that is all.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Newton hung in there even though he came back to earth. The run-game helped out just enough. The defense was amazing. And the Jags refused to trust Gabbert at all, and just ran the ball 90% of the time in the 4th, trying to sit on a 10-5 lead. FartWaffles 1,857 Posted September 26, 2011 Texans lost because... 1. Saints o-line did an excellent job at protecting Drew Brees so he could pick apart the defense. 2. Red zone offense. Settling for those field goals early instead of scoring touchdowns really hurt them. 3. Abandoning the running game with Ben Tate.
Milla4Prez63 678 Posted September 26, 2011 Bucs won because of their defensive line. Can't believe I just said that after how awful it has been. But they shut down Michael Turner completly and were in Matt Ryan's face all day. Especially Brian Price, he is just flat out beasting it up.
badgers 380 Posted September 26, 2011 LolCutler. Classic 2-INT game against us; almost a 3-INT game if Walden wasn't being stupid.
NEFan 12 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Brady decided to channel his inner Bad Tony Romo and throw four picks. The defense didn't show up at all in the second half. If I had more hair, it would be falling out. Edited September 26, 2011 by NEFan
KiLaSix9+ 398 Posted September 26, 2011 The Bucs won mainly because of our defensive line. We created pressure all game long for Matt Ryan and shut down their run game early. Ronde Barber also turned in another ageless performance.
BucD+ 648 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Basically what KiLa said... DL dominated in the trenches today forcing 3 TOs and 4 sacks. We shut down Turner and their running game making them one dimensional. It was surprising to see our defense step up and play so well the entire game and virtually win the game for us when Josh Freeman had a less than stellar day...to say the least... Touchdown 1 Posted September 28, 2011 Saints won by outscoring the opposition Texans who were much the better team in the first half, but couldn't sustain offense in the 2nd half. Still we're 2-1 now, onwards and upwards.
Bay 2,003 Posted September 28, 2011 Won the turnover battle.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Defense dominated the Jaguars all game long. Only two fluke plays led to 7 of Jacksonville's ten points. Newton came through in the clutch after struggling most of the afternoon, leading a drive when we had to have it. The running game did just enough, and J-Stew would have broken 100 total yards if possibly the worst call ever made by an official on instant replay hadn't brought back a 60-yard run down to the Jaguars 3-yard line. Touchdown 1 Posted October 3, 2011 Saints won because they put up more points than the Jags. (*lame*) sorry
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted October 3, 2011 - Our secondary finally limited a QB to under 300 yards - Aaron Rodgers was... himself. - Kept the defense honest with the run, then killed them with the pass. - Able to force turnovers
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted October 3, 2011 -Pittsburgh's o-line is atrocious. -Defense was able to stop Mendenhall. -Offense was able to step up and overcome penalties and losing Andre Johnson. (Daniels, Foster)
seanbrock 1,684 Posted October 3, 2011 Way too many turnovers. Andy Reid is mentally retarded. Defense sucked cock.
westbrookforsix 28 Posted October 3, 2011 Way too many turnovers. Andy Reid is mentally retarded. Defense sucked cock. You can name a lot of things wrong with this game but it really begins and ends with Maclin's fumble and Henery's 2 missed kicks. Our defense wasn't great, but we still had a chance to win and there were points that we should have had on the board that resulted in 0's. It wouldn't have been pretty, but we still would have won the game without those mistakes.
Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted October 3, 2011 The Titans scored more points.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) 1. The referees called back a TD off a bullshit OPI call, as well as missed two blocks in the back on the punt return TD. 2. Matt Forte gashed our run defense all day long. I don't understand why we couldn't stop the run when Cutler couldn't throw the ball worth shit. 3. Devin Hester and the special teams fail on the kick return that set up a TD. (The punt return, as mentioned earlier, was bullshit and should have been called back.) 3. Legedu Nanee failed, miserably, at catching the ball. I counted at least three drops, one of which he conveniently threw up in the air so Chicago could pick it off, resulting in 7 more Bears points. 4. We had Olindo Mare instead of John Kasay, who hits both the FGs that Mare missed, at least 80-90% of the time. Even though our run-game got going, and Newton played like he did in week 1, it wasn't enough to beat the Bears and the Stripes. Great teams find ways to win even when the refs are horrible, but the unfortunate fact is, the Panthers are not a great team at the moment, they're a young team, and when calls go the way they did Sunday, they're going to have a very hard time winning that game. I think we did really well, minus the run defense, and Nanee just failing, (get Pilares in there already), just couldn't beat both the Bears and the refs. Milla4Prez63 678 Posted October 4, 2011 The Bucs won on MNF because of our pass rush and run game. We almost lost because of penelties, but our physicality on both sides of the ball pulled it off already.

Patriots2994 43 Posted October 4, 2011 1. Tom Brady was efficient despite his near 50% accuracy 2. The defense was able to contain McFadden on every carry except for a single 41 yard run 3. The defense came up with turnovers in key moments 4. Ridley/BJGE were able to both rush effectively, which led to a touchdown for each
oochymp 2,393 Posted October 9, 2011 as it turns out, the Steelers are still a very good team, and we're not quite there yet seriously, hats off to the Steelers, they dominated us in every phase of the game, the final score was 38-17 but it wasn't nearly that close
