Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) Welcome to the 2013 TGP NFL Mock Draft! This thread is used strictly for GMs to announce their selections. Please direct all discussion, debates, etc to the Mock Draft Discussion Thread. Don't forget to have fun with your selection and this process. Even though discussion is not allowed, use your time at the podium wisely! Announce your selection, add a picture, and don't be afraid to let everyone know why the player you picked was the best selection for your team. And now, the rules. Mostly provided by Stevo from a year ago, with a few additions / edits. Rules 1) Starting when the first overall pick is made, all NFL transactions in real life are null and void. This includes free agent signings and all trades that involve draft picks. 2) You are allowed to trade draft picks from 2013 or 2014. You may not trade players, though you may trade draft rights to a player that has already been drafted. 3) When compensatory picks are announced by the NFL, we will add them to the draft order. In line with NFL rules, compensatory picks cannot be traded. If we get to a point where compensatory selections need to be made, but they haven't been announced, these projections will be our source for those selections. 4) Trades between two separate GMs need only be confirmed by both GMs in the discussion thread. Trades between two teams of the same GM may also be made. If you take issue with any of the trades made, speak of your concern in the discussion thread. From there, the panel of Blue, House, and F4E shall rule on the trade. Only the most absurd, unfathomable trades will be considered for overture. Their ruling will be final. 5) Each GM will have 24 hours from when their team goes on the clock to make their selection. Your teams clock begins as soon as the previous GM announces their selection. As we move further into the draft, later rounds will feature shorter time limits. Missing your pick twice may result in you forfeiting your team and being banned from this activity next year. If you think you may be unable to make your pick on time, send a "board" or wishlist of prospects to someone you trust to make the pick for you. Current Selections On The Clock: Favre4Ever On Deck: In the Hole: Bangy has to change his pick since Wes Horton is already off the board. Round 1 1. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) With the 1st Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.... The Kansas City Chiefs Select... Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama The undisputed #1 CB of this class finds a home in Kansas City opposite Brandon Flowers. The loss of Brandon Carr hurt the Chiefs D last season, and replacement Stanford Routt didn't even finish the year for the team. Milliner offers a rare combination skill set that brings great field vision, ball skills, and size to the field. He has the frame to line up opposite some of the leagues biggest and baddest wideouts. He is quick and agile off the line, and shows a good burst and instincts in both man and zone coverage. He has the knack to make big plays, and it's an honor to have the leagues next shutdown corner as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted March 1, 2013 With the 2nd Selection of the 2013 NFL Draft.... The Jacksonville Swaguars Select... BasedGeno Smith, QB, West Virginia Geno Smith has all the tools to be a franchise QB. Can make all the throws, great accuracy, textbook throwing motion, quick release, able to slide and buy time in the pocket, all while keeping good eye level (keeps his eyes down the field), good touch on his deep balls, has the ability to make plays with his feet, but most of all — he's a film rat. He's a self admitted football nerd, he's gonna put in the time, the dedication and he's a fierce competitor who improved his stats every year in college. I'm a big believer on fit in the draft. Dana Holgo, Geno's OC/HC in college, completely misused his abilities. Due to Jaguars OC Jedd Fisch's history with QBs, especially in getting mediocre QBs like Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris to put up big numbers and become legit passing threats, I believe Geno and Fisch are a perfect match. It gives Geno a legitimate running threat with MJD, and passing weapons in Cecil Shorts, Justin Blackmon, and Marcedes Lewis. You can't fix everything in one year, but finding a QB is the most important way to get your team back to being competitive. As of now the Jags haven't found one, so you pick one until it hits. No player this year is a lock for the top 10, they all have warts, but I believe in Geno.
Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted March 1, 2013 With the third pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida A dominant DT who has flown up draft board as of late, Floyd gives the Raiders a dominant force in the middle of that defensive line. The Raiders don't need to accumulate picks: They need to accumulate talent. That process begins with a Sharrif Floyd.
seanbrock 1,684 Posted March 1, 2013 The Philadelphia Eagles select Chance Warmack I tried to trade back, because I wasn't comfortable with drafting a guard in the top 5, but Chance Warmack may very well be the best player in this draft class and I'm not going to take a lesser player because he plays a sexier position. When you put on the tape Warmack has drawn comparisons of Will Shields, don't get me wrong, he has a lot of work to do before he gets to that level if he ever does but the guy has dominated in the best and most physical conference in college football. The Eagles pretty much need to take BPA unless it's a RB at this point and Warmack is the BPA in my eyes.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted March 2, 2013 With the 5th pick in the 2013 draft, the Detroit Lions select, Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU Only other player considered was JJ, who ultimately ended up not being the choice due to injury. Bangy 19 Posted March 2, 2013 With the 6th pick in the NFL Draft, The Seattle Seahawks Select Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon Jordan is the premier LB in this draft in my opinion and is a very good fit for the Seahawks, he is ideal for the hybrid 4-3/3-4 defensive scheme that they employ. He has a great motor, will play when hurt having shown that with playing with a torn laburnum for most of the season. He is a good pass rusher and he also has very good range in coverage. He reminds me personally of Julian Peterson when he was there in his prime. Only thing he needs to to is bulk up and work on his shoulder but I expect him to sort that out with ease.
RANGA+ 1,210 Posted March 2, 2013 With the 7th selection in the 2013 NFL Entry Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M No idea how this guy is still on the board. Luke is one of the best LT prospects to come out of college football in years. He has the size, strength and speed to become an elite tackle at the next level. Great in the passing game and more than able to hold his own in the running game, Luke fills a glaring need for the Cardinals.
Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) The Buffalo Bills have traded the 8th pick to the Chicago Bears, and with the 8th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan This is a trade up and pick the Bears needed to make. The most glaring weakness on their team for years has been a complete and utter incompetence in pass protection. I traded up here knowing I would get one of Joeckel or Fisher, and I don't consider there to be much of a gap at all between the two. Jay Cutler says "Thank you Trident for your hypothetical draft trade. You are awesome." Edited March 2, 2013 by Tridentdawgpound
JetsFan4Life 542 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) With the 9th selection in the 2013 NFL Entry Draft, the New York Jets select: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia With the Jets organization in shambles it's time for the organization to go back to what made this team good a few years ago. Defense. And with a stud like Jarvis Jones on the board it's hard to pass up on the opportunity of someone who could be a cornerstone of the defense for years to come. Jones can offer many different looks, something need in Ryan's constant shuffling scheme. He's coming off back-to-back years with 13+ sacks 70+ tackles and last year had 7 forced fumbles. The Jets are not oblivious to the injury concerns that Jones possesses but the organization feels the upside of this player is too good to pass up and proudly welcome Jarvis Jones to Gang Green. .AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 10th selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select.. Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah Thought to be by a lot of scouts the #1 prospect in the draft, Lotulelei's stock took a bit of a hit due to a possible heart condition, but with his level of impact on the defensive line, the Titans can't pass up taking him 10th overall. Taking on double teams on practically every play in college, Lotulelei still managed to be extremely disruptive in run defense and even managed to get to the QB, notching 5 sacks this past season. He plays a lot like Kevin Williams of the Vikings, and adding a presence like that along side Jurrell Casey, a great run stuffer, and two solid defensive ends in Morgan and Wimbley, should give the Titans a defensive line reminiscent of their early 2000s teams. AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 13th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Xavier Rhodes, CB, FSU Rhodes has a great combine and with his big size and physicality, he should be a great fit in Greg Schiano's defense. The Bucs had the worst pass defense in the NFL last year, so the secondary must be addressed this off-season.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 14th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select: Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas. Vaccaro simply improves a position that was absolutely abysmal for the Panthers in 2012, and is pretty much a no-brainer at this point.
BradyFan81 404 Posted March 3, 2013 Alright, with pick #15 overall in the 2013 TGP Mock Draft, the New Orleans select: Barkevious Mingo The Saints struggled to get to the QB last year, and although all areas of their defense need help, we hope this will be a good start in turning it around. Mingo is a pass rushing beast who could be a double digit sack guy in the NFL, and will be a good fit at OLB in the Saints 3-4.
Bucman 891 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 16th pick overall in the 2013 TGP Mock Draft the St.Louis Rams select Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee Rams still need a legit #1 WR and Patterson can be that guy. Patterson - Givens - Quick can be a great trio for years to come. Amendola may be gone in FA too.
housemd 338 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 17th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select: Damontre Moore, DE/OLB, Texas A&M This guy played as 4-3 DE at Texas A&M,but he has some experience as a 3-4 rush OLB. LaMarr Woodley has some injury concerns and James Harrison just isn't the same monster he used to be. Moore will get the starting position once James decides to retire and with all the potential he has,he should become a quarterbacks nightmare under Dick LeBeau.
Omerta+ 1,206 Posted March 3, 2013 With the 18th pick in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select: Jonathan Cooper Guard University of North Carolina Cowboys fans rejoice. You have a competent GM on your hands, mover over Jerry you suck ass bro. The Cowboys need a lot of help with the o line of theirs. It is not the traditional flashy pick that we have been accustomed to that comes with whining and expensive jewelry debts. This guy is pretty good sized (6'2" 311) and can handle himself in the run game and pass game. He is going to provide some much needed help on the Oline. Mayock has said that he gets better the further he gets away from the football which is evident by his workouts in the combine and in the games. He is supremely athletic and has a good initial burst and uses his hands well. his quickness allows him to get to the second level easily. He also has some flexibility and can move to center in a pinch. He will start immediately and could well be the best guard in his division next year. The cowboys start to address the trenches so that others can shine. Sorry Jerry, but go home, I got this.

Sarge+ 3,436 Posted March 3, 2013 Via Campin, with the 20th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select Tavon Austin, WR, WVU Bills fill one of their needs for their anemic passing offense. With Johnson and Chandler being their only receiving options, Tavon Austin adds a new explosive dimension to the Bills passing attack. Versatile in ways he can be used, he just may be the best offensive play maker in this draft.
