I know there is already an election thread, but I want to have a vote. The poll is 100% private, so no one will see your selection.

As you can see in my signature, I am supporting Gary Johnson for President, and I proudly voted for him via absentee ballot.

I'm proud to say I'll be voting for Gary Johnson either tomorrow or Monday. :yep:

In terms of Congress, I'll be voting for Connie Mack IV (more voting against Bill Nelson than anything) for the Senate seat that Nelson currently holds.

Already voted for Obama even though it means nothing in Texas. Definitely voted for my guys at the state and local levels though.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. If I do decide to vote, it would be for Obama simply because I hate Mitt Romney, but in Georgia people think he's the greatest thing ever so it doesn't matter whatsoever.

Gary Johnson.

My congressional district is kind of fucked. I hate the incumbent, your typical democrat, Dave Loebsack. Ew. I get chills watching him on tv sometimes and not in a good way.

Not really sure if I fully support the republican candidate, though, either (John Archer). He's been pretty quiet this election cycle, and even though polls are showing a 5 pt lead for Loebsack, I am not so sure it will even be that close.

Probably going to vote for Archer just in the name of change.

I voted Romney, and actually went Republican all the way down, not something I usually like to do, but I liked the Republicans on the rest of the ballot so I went with it.

As for why I voted Romney, it's really a pretty simple reason, when I look at a Presidential election my biggest factor is which candidate is more willing to work with the other party. Here, we've got a Republican who's served as governor in a traditionally deep blue state against an incumbent Democrat whose signature legislation was ramrodded through with absolutely no support from the Republicans in Congress. I don't think the President really gets to do much on their own, they need a lot of support, and I'm much more willing to get behind somebody who's willing to reach across the aisle to find that support than somebody who relies on an extremely strong backing from his own party. It's the same reason I voted for McCain in '08.

Nothing against your position... just highlighting something that I really hate.

The hostility in Congress is ridiculous. Politics has devolved into insults and bitching, and I just can't stand this. Republicans in Congress are mimicking the stubbornness of Republicans post-WW1 and pro-slavery politicians prior to the succession of the South. It's truly pathetic, and I don't think we can advance as a country until the bigotry and idiocy has been cleansed from Capitol Hill. Although, this isn't going to happen and we get to watch our country stagnate at the hands of people who mentally fap to themselves being showered in money. :Americanpolitics:

Vikingfan, I couldn't agree with you more, it's incredibly frustrating that most of the people in the country sit somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum yet most of the people who are active in politics sit on one of the fringes

Probably either Romney or Johnson.

If you'd like any more information on Johnson, we libertarians here would be more than happy to provide you with it. I don't want to be in your face about it so I'll leave it at that, after I say: Gary 2012!

Ehhh, I'd vote Johnson, but I don't know if I can make it out to the polls tomorrow. Got an afternoon and a night class tomorrow, and I'll probably will be finishing up assignments in between. So... good chance I won't be voting lol. I value school over politics. :coffee:

Voted. Posted this on facebook just now, pretty much all I have to say on this anymore.

Election Day. The one day that Americans get the opportunity to buck trends, correct their mistakes, and blaze a new path for not only ourselves, but posterity. I voted against the broken two party system. I voted against the massive police state. I said "NO" to unconstitutional wars, taxes, and the status quo. My vote goes to liberty, freedom, and hope for a better tomorrow. I took a stand today, and today... My conscience is clear.

For anybody on TGP who's not from Canada, Stephen Harper is the Prime Minister (PM) of Canada since 2006. I agree with you Reid 100%, all the other parties and their respective leaders are a joke or would ruin Canada with there policies that aren't paid for! He has done a pretty good job on the economy, plus he actually knows what he's talking about when he talks about the economy considering his master's degree in economics and his accomplished economic expereicne in the private sector!

Me and the wife voted for Gary Johnson. Neither of us consider ourselves Libertarians, and we disagree with some things, but we felt supporting another party with mostly good ideas is the only way this country will be rid of this corrupt two party system. It wouldn't feel right to vote for one of two guys that really didn't even address most of the countries biggest problems, and outright lied repeatedly to a national audience.

Gary Johnson. I don't live in a swing state so it didn't really matter if I voted Romney or Obama.

Forgetting the fact that I waited up 6pm to vote when polls close at 7:30pm, I can't wait for online voting to begin. I had to go into a church on the other side of town, only to stand in four separate lines with people at the end who couldn't help me due to my license not matching my current residence. The last guy was on a phone telling all of my information to somebody I have no idea about, only to hang up and tell me that I had to go to my home town to vote. At that point, I had 45 minutes and it takes 40 to there. I did make it in time to cast my vote but damn, it shouldn't be that difficult if all I have to do is call in to pick my favorite singer on American Idol.

As for who I voted for? It's the first time I actually did that. Last time I voted AGAINST McCain by selecting Obama. This time I went with Johnson because I've come to the fact that I hate two party systems. Also voted against casinos in the counties I no longer live in and for medical marijuana throughout the state.
