BwareDWare94 723 Posted December 6, 2015 I'm sick of not producing touchdowns with good receivers and tight ends. I'm sick of passes sailing because of his mechanics and the gloves. I'm sick of him holding the ball because he's too scared to throw downfield and hurt his completion percentage, and I'm sick of all the dumb passes that have led to all of his interceptions. He may not turn the ball over a lot but every time he does it just kills the momentum and is usually a flat out terrible throw. Bad Jay Cutler-esque. I do not believe in this kid. He can't get it done. You don't regress this poorly without some serious issue and I don't see how they can be rectified by later this year or next season. Maybe he'll develop in 3-5 years but for right now he's a poor man's Alex Smith and Alex Smith is a poor man's franchise quarterback already. I was fully committed to stating that this kid is the best second year QB before the season started, but both Bortles and Carr are shitting all over him right now and it's not close. This is not the answer at quarterback. He's toast.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted December 6, 2015 "good receivers" ..... Defense did nothing and I think Russ had close to a perfect passer rating. If your defense is going to require your offense to put up 40 points to win, you aren't going to win that many games. Vikings have bigger issues than Teddy
BucD+ 648 Posted December 6, 2015 Stop it. Teddy is in his second year. He's young and shows tons of promise. Yeah it can be frustrating, but chill and give it time.

This is not the answer at quarterback. He's toast. And who was the magical savior of the Minnesota Vikings franchise? Was it Matt Cassel? Christian Ponder? Maybe you should start the great Shaun Hill for a few games in hopes that he can turn this 8-4 football team around. The Vikings do not have good receivers and tight ends. Rudolph is average. Pruitt is a developing rookie. Patterson is a return specialist. Wallace is simply terrible and doesn't give effort. Wright is average at best. Johnson has been doing absolutely nothing. Bridgewater has nobody to throw to, and it shows. The line has been pretty mediocre, from what I've heard. Peterson is the only truly good player on that offense with Bridgewater. "I'm sick of all the dumb passes that led to all of his interceptions. He may not turn the ball over a lot..." You're sick of all the dumb passes that he is making to not turn the ball over a lot? Come on man.

OSUViking 505 Posted December 6, 2015 To be fair, Teddy seems to have regressed while Carr and Bortles are developing quite well. There are way more factors than just the players themselves, but Teddy isn't playing super well. I'm not giving up faith in him, but he's not performing anywhere close to what we need to be serious playoff contenders.
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted December 6, 2015 How about that horrible o-line? The games I've watched, Teddy seems to be running for his life at times. Now that could be from bad defense recognition and his habit of running backwards a lot. But it doesn't seem like he gets much help outside of Peterson. BwareDWare94 723 Posted December 7, 2015 How about that horrible o-line? The games I've watched, Teddy seems to be running for his life at times. Now that could be from bad defense recognition and his habit of running backwards a lot. But it doesn't seem like he gets much help outside of Peterson. In every single game he misses a wide open touchdown, according to Paul Allen. They're always talking about guys who broke free that Teddy flat out doesn't see. This was happening last season, too. It's really frustrating.
Milla4Prez63 678 Posted December 7, 2015 Why do we act like Bridgewater is garbage while Carr and Bortles are gods, yet Bridgewater is the only one with a winning record? Not saying those guys aren't good, but c'mon...
RazorStar 4,025 Posted December 7, 2015 This just in, all QBs suck except for #2nami. Even this random man on the street agrees!

Milla4Prez63 678 Posted December 7, 2015 I never said you can judge off wins alone, but acting like Bridgewater is way worse than these dudes when he's winning games is kind of silly.

ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted December 7, 2015 Why do we act like Bridgewater is garbage while Carr and Bortles are gods, yet Bridgewater is the only one with a winning record? Not saying those guys aren't good, but c'mon... You know the NFL is a team sport right? When you have a top defense and one of the top running backs in the game your whole W-L record will fluctuate based on that...and not really your individual play. Teddy hasn't been carrying the Vikings. Carr and Bortles may have fewer wins...but when they do win it is mainly do to their effort. I have yet to see that from Teddy this season. BwareDWare94 723 Posted December 22, 2015 I'm more than happy to be wrong if Teddy proves me to be so, but a couple of good weeks can't convince me, and even a good December can't convince me. Teddy Bridgewater can't throw only 9 TD passes through 13 games next season. He can't have deep passes sail on him constantly through 13 games next season. He can't hold on to the ball for an eternity next season. He can't throw all rookie INTs next season. I want to see more good plays by DBs than horrible throws on INTs next season. I hope he proves to be the answer, but I don't believe in him. I believe that a QB without an NFL arm will ALWAYS sabotage your potential in some way. Look at Andy Dalton. While I think his arm strength has actually improved throughout his years in the league, he still has moments where the Pennington noodle shows up. There are big armed QBs like Cutler and Flacco who are startlingly bad for stretches of time, but I think I'd rather have the 60 yard deep baller over the dink and dunk player. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted December 22, 2015 As long as he isn't costing you games... this is when you want your QB playing your best. You don't want Peyton Manning, you want Joe Montana.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted December 23, 2015 He's doing better across the board in a similar number of games b.w last year and this year. Bridgewater is gonna be straight.
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted December 27, 2015 I've never quite understood the gloves at all. Most quarterbacks always say how the gloves present problems to throwing the football. Yet there are a select few that wear them. Those few have accuracy issues.

BLUE 1,026 Posted February 18, 2016 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Vikings GM Rick Spielman wants Teddy Bridgewater to "(let) it loose a little more" in 2016. "I don’t want to call him cautious, but he took very good care of the ball because we don’t want to turn the ball over," Spielman said. "(Just) letting it loose a little more, giving some guys a chance to make plays even though it may not look like it’s open." We wouldn't expect a radically different approach from Bridgewater, who seems keenly aware of his arm strength limitations. Bridgewater has great ball placement, but lacks the power to consistently drive it beyond the second level.
